I think I heard it called a "Jump Gate" once. I always assumed it's where you can bind a spawn point to, but I don't knoiw for sure.

Yea I think its either warp gate, or a "sphere of influence" ie, home base.

You can fly anything through it, or just walk through it. They connect the continents.. you cannot fly from one continent to another.

Even though your not a Vanu i will tel you what it is. Its called a "Warp Gate" to those who dont know its secret Vanu code name. They were made by the men and women who now for the most part are in the Vanu using Nano and Matrixing tecnology. It Alows the movment of a single person to large groups from one contonent to another in a matter of moments. That one looks active.

As stated it's not a home base, simply a warp gate. And also stated yes you can fly ships through it.
