Nominate Forum Moderators

As all of you know things are QUITE busy around here. Right now we only have a couple of moderators with myself handling the majority of it. We are currently averaging quite a bit of traffic and a pretty high post rate. As a result, things tend to get a bit more hairy in the forums. And at this rate things will only get busier.

As you know we have a pretty laid back moderation policy but as of late it seems to be getting a bit more out of control and people are taking a bit of advantage. As a result I would like to seek a few moderators to keep an eye on this forum specifically.

Typically I would choose someone myself - but this time around I want to mix it up just a bit. I will still make the final decision but I wanted the community to be involved in the initial process.

I would like people to Send me a PM and nominate one individual you think would be a good moderator. There are only a couple requirements:

You CANNOT nominate yourself.
Do not wage a campaign to get nominated. I will know..
Must be registered for at least 2 months.
This person must be active at least a few hours a day to be effective.
Person must not have any infractions against them (There is no way for you to know this unfortunately.)

In your PM please include the following:

The persons Forum name (duh)
Why you think they would make a good forum moderator.

It's not a popularity contest so x amount of votes does not win you the spot. This person will also not become PSU Staff, but they will certainly work hand in hand with us.

What are you talking about?
PSU, compared to other fan sites and even official ones like Facepunch are either full of senseless bickering or nazi moderators. This forum has a nice, if a bit spammy, sense of control to it.

I've noticed the speed with which threads on PSU have gotten past 5 pages has been increasing alot since the news of PS2 was released. I expect that once beta starts, the traffic is going to get even greater

No, it has a lot of moderation, its why most veterans from Markov don't post here and only post on Markovforums.

You sir must be confused between this forum and some other forum. I am the one who runs it and I am telling you there isn't much moderation. Horses mouth right there..

If this forum has to much moderation for someone I shudder to think what their posting habits are.

I don't know if it's the fact that PS fans are from a bygone era, and therefore more mature, but in general I think this community manages to moderate itself to a certain extent ;p

If moderation is a binary system then the guy who claimed /b/ had too much moderation would have been correct. But I think you're confusing moderation with community pressure to be polite. The only straight up bans I've seen are due to flagrant and consistent trolling with no value added.

If that's too much moderation then I'm happy to have it.

I motion that in addition to the appointment of more moderators, more stringent punitive measures be levied upon offenders.

Example punishment includes unleashing a swarm of angry bees inside of the offender's house (it should be like that movie with Nicholas Cage where he screams, "OH GOD NOT THE BEES"), or chopping off the offender's finger with a rusty machete (the specific finger to be chopped off would be selected at the acting moderator's whim).

Only through heavy handed moderation will you bring peace to these forums.

All Moderators must be Terrans. The weak, disloyal NC can't handle rules, and the nutcase VS think they're above them.
