Transporter?

Im new and dont quite understand, is it possible to get xp by transporting people? i wanted to make 2 characters. 1 sniper and 2. a pilot probably a galaxy flier to transport, but will this mean he cant get xp without getting on the ground and shooting? in which case should i fly a bomber first then a transport.

you can gain xp by being in a squad with others who kill. The only way to actually gain is to kill enemies or be in a enemy base while your empire captures it. If you join a squad and ferry them around you will share in the xp they generate.
