Outfit name issue.

Hey all,

Recently we have had problems with members of our outfit starting squads and platoons with our outfit name on them. They are never organized and reflect badly on the hard work we put into our outfit.


Could there be a few people who can be set in the outfit to being the only ones able to start an authentic squad or platoon, what i suggest is that when these chosen few start a platoon or squad the outfit tag will appear next to the squad/platoon name in the squad/platoon list.


eg. of name in active squad/platoon list,

Outfit Name - Orbital Drop Shock Troopers / Tag - [ODST]


a) [ODST] Orbital Drop Shock Troopers - Amerish

b) [ODST] Esamir Alert Platoon

c)[ODST] Defend Indar from the Barney's !!


If someone is not authorized by any outfit whatever squad/platoon name he comes up with will not have the [outfit] on the name I don't know how to do this but you could make "]" and "[" special characters or something.

This was the simplest solution I could come up with . At least i believe it to be simple in implementation . I also thought of bookmarking outfit names but that would be easy to work around.


One final word, this will also work when a platoon leader either crash or leaves abruptly , the platoon lead will revert back to the the few chosen members of the platoon. If there are none available it should immediately disband.

There should be way more outfit customization options available in-game , right now it's pathetic . I like OP's solution , anyone else ?

Umm, I don't think it's necessary.

Being able to create a squad and name it how you like has been around since the start of Planetside and this has never been a problem of particular concern.

If you have outfit members who are misuing the squad creation or running outfit squads in ways you don't like then I'd say this is an issue for you to deal with internally within your outfit.
