Will This Run on Integrated Graphics?

Before you troll me read below please.

I have an i5-3450 and 8gb of ram, but I won't be getting the graphics until around September. I would really want to play Planetside 2 before then. I have a BETA key and if I don't get into closed BETA, I would want to play in open.

So do you think it will okay on Intel HD 2500? My monitor at the moment is 1154x864/1280x1024. I'm expecting low settings.

I would like to point out that I can run TF2 on high with no AA at 35-90 fps.

Oh and hi

EDIT: I am planning to get a 560, 560ti, 660, 6850, 6870, 6950, or 7850 depending on price. Also I will try it when I can and make a thread on it's performance.

Why would you LOL ?
I don't know this community anymore.
As for OP. That I can't answer,no one knows yet what the system specs are due to the NDA. Maybe someone more tech savvy can answer.

Definitely LOL.

Integrated graphics are simply not built to run this. Give up hope.

I'll go off of previous experience, when PS1 came out I ran it on integrated graphics (I was 12 did not know any better). And that experience consisted of lowest of the low settings with a view distance of 20meters and averaging 2-6fps. Loading new continents would take 10 minutes as well.

Probably not a good idea.

Edit: To all of those poking fun i'm sure there was a time when you didn't know a damn thing about a computer except where the power button was.

Integrated have come a long way, the new i3/i5 sets are decent and are comparable to a low range card.

Before that they were pretty awful, my laptop has a GMA945 (one of the last ones before the X3000+ series), it won't run minecraft at more than 8fps in windowed mode.

here's the thing fellas not all integrated graphics are the same.. All depends on your cpu and board.

I have tested my setup with BF3 before just using my I5 200K cpu and Asus P67 board.. the game ran on low at about 25 fps without problems.

I'm not telling him to do so.. but it is likely possible etc.

only way to know is once you get in beta give it a try.

Integrated graphics can mean many things, especially with laptops. But Intel graphics are not typically meant for rendering.

The answer to your question is no it Will not work on integrated graphics. Sorry for people laughing instead of just answering the question. I hope you get to a place where you will be able to enjoy the game like the rest of us.

With (very) rare exceptions, integrated cards are crap. That is why you hear people bragging about "Nvidia" this or "ATI" that. Have you ever heard of someone going "Dude, my Intel RoXRz!" :P

Don't mind the sarcasm from everybody. It's just hilarious from anybody that has even a vague idea what we're discussing :P It's almost like getting in a little red wagon, and asking people if they think you can make it to the moon :P

Totally depends on how much power Planetside 2 will need and how good your integrated is.

You'll certainly be stuck on low though at best.

I doubt it, you may be able to with no players but if you have like hundred in one area i would expect it to grind it to a hault. Hell i expect this game to be very taxing. Just becuase it ran on 670s at e3 doesn't mean it will run as well with 2k vs 200

Welcome Patflute!

As my esteemed fellow gamers have already eloquently stated, I would not get your hopes up. From what I've read, the graphics demand for this game is very high and even some higher end cards are not running at peak efficiency. The likelihood of your integrated graphics being able to decently run the game is probably pretty slim.

Really the only way to tell for sure is launching the game once you get in the beta. I know it doesn't bring you any comfort, but really anything anyone says here will just be raw speculation.

Good thing you're getting a card in September though!

You will be able to take lovely screenshots. Really though, if your going to try and play PS2 on integrated graphics, you might as well ditch the high speed internet and just write down 10110110 on paper and mail it to SOE too.
