stay away from eMachines. In fact block that site permanently and then poke your eyes out with a spoon.

Normally, I'd agree that you should stay away from eMachines like the frikkin' plague. But.....

Computer Games Magazine just reviewed this system in their Feb issue and they were amazed by it. They gave it 5 stars (all the while stating how surprised they were that an eMachines gaming comp wasn't crap). Their only problems with it were that they thought the motherboard could be better and they didn't like the mouse. But they said that for the price, it can't be beat.

Who knows, maybe they're right.

I think the best comp deal you can get is to build it yourself. I haven't heard much about emachines lately, but I've always known them as a really cheap "do-my-work-stuff" machine... not a gaming machine by ANY stretch (especially a beast of a game like PS will be!).

If you do consider building (it really isn't that hard) post here and people can help you pick parts and stuff.

Actually, you can find a good gaming comp at Best Buy... believe it or not, the Best Buy house brand, VPR Matrix, is actually quite kickass. They use all (good) brand-name parts in the machine. I've been QUITE pleased with mine, and it was just over $1100.

Though frankly, that machine does look like a good deal. Nice parts, and it's got a Raddy 9700. I just wish they'd used a processor with a bit more muscle... ask around and see if you can remove the processor and put a better one in at a later date.

^^ If you plan on using the computer for just regular things eMachines are fine but like powda said it's not a power gaming machine. At least they haven't been in the past but I seriously doubt that one is but who knows.

Someone have $1000 to test it?
