This is definitely not a priority, but I was thinking that a year from now if its actually even possible to revamp some of the old continents after their interest wears out. Some locations for me are already beginning to wear out their welcome.
Now its been done with EQ and some other games, but the continents are a whole lot bigger and revamping one I suppose is out of the question. So basically, its out of the question for now it seems, but can you imagine a PS with more interesting locales? Imagine one of the bases inside the crater at Searhus; Its built into the side of the steep slope of the volcano, and there is only one narrow road to the main entrance...to fall off the edge means a quick trip to a lava pit. But that's not the only way in. Geothermal energy is gathered and giant exhaust vents climb along the cliff above the base. Stairs are built along the giant vents, spiraling down the sides where access doors await at the bottom. The road also forks before the base, and a guard tower is situated right below the base. Next to it built in the wall is a service elevator which leads up to the base. Or a base in a river valley which is a dam. You can access the damn by taking the tower on the opposite side of the damn and run across to the base, or go through the front entrance, or the side entrance which is behind the uber-cliche waterfall that covers the limestone caverns which leads into the back door of the base. Damn budget costs, development deadlines, and...whatever else makes it a pain in the ass to implement stuff like this(like having to design everything seperately instead of all Amp stations being just like other Amp stations)! But wouldn't that be cool? |

I would love to see different types of bases, I hate how every base is the same, each dropship facility has everything in the exact same place. I also wish there was more variety to the terrain, I would like to see a real desert, with NOTHING, no plants, no trees, hardly any rocks. More enviroment specific bases, geothermal power plants in the arctic, solar plants in the desert, hydroelectric in the jungle/river delta area or whatever. Tidal generators for coastal facilities. They should put generators seperate from the bases like they did in TR2, TR2 always had generators in a position which made it necessary to defend, thereby getting rid of just one HUGE battle, there would be a battle over the gens and a battle over the switch (Siege, switch is a CC for those of you that didnt play TR2). More mountanious terrain, facilties need to be harder to get to, stick one inside a mountain with docking and landing ports, maybe one road that comes from the opposite side of mountain goes to the facil, and is heavily guarded. Well I pretty much let loose there, thats my wish list for PS

Maybe the devs could change the world every 6 months to reflect changes that COULD have happened in that time period in reality.
For example, in 6 months new bases could have been built over water and such. New valleys could have formed in the snow continents as ice shifted and such. Lakes could have grown larger in the lush continents thanks to rain. Not huge changes, but if they just added a few new bases here and there as months go on it'd give the illusion of the world growing as time progresses. They could even add a new continent. To keep with the flow of the game they could give it a backstory like "A previously undiscovered land was opened up after an ancient warpgate found beneath a huge mountain of ice was dug up". Then you use the warpgate that is where a huge mountain used to be on a snowy continent to reach the new one. Oh joy. These are just random ideas, but still.. |

Oh, I did say in a post a while back that coastal facilities would be brilliant. My favourite suggestion was having one main facility in the middle of a large lake, which can only be accessed by air and by naval ships (hopefully added in a future patch).
To reach the base by water you must use "docks" or whatever around various parts of the lake which are exactly the same as towers but look slightly different and can spawn water vehicles. These docks of course can be hacked by different empires. If you cannot hack the docks you are forced to get over by air. It'd be a great addition to the game because the defenders would have to both hold onto their base AND try to keep the docks enemy-free while the attackers would be attacking in a new fashion simply because this base is in the middle of water. |
