Since the last patch my Striker seems to have much worse performance, namely:
Fails to lock at extreme range Breaks lock much more easily than before Has anyone else noticed this outside my outfit? Morat

That thing needs to be nerfed, lets see, im driving around and i see "Warning: Missile Lock" so i go into my holy shit mode and turn like crazy trying to dodge, but i cant. I swearit can go 280 kph about the speed of a reaver of mosquito with afterburners at full.
But the Pheonix, (its very good by the way) can only travel maybe 100kph.

I think it something a bit more universal and basic than just the striker.
Alot of people dont realize it, but they did make some changes to the client in the way of bandwidth. You can manually adjust how much bandwidth your client is using. Now they implented that THIS PATCH. (go search for smokejumpers latest post at the offical boards). So my sneaky suspicion is that theres somethign screwy with the client side predictions. For example, last night no one is infront of me except this NC cloaker. Not wanting to hit anyone else, i pull out my repeater and start to shoot him. An outfit member BEHIND me dies from it. In another example, im guarding the back door, i smoke the first few guys that try to come through , and the door closes. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere, theres a bananna MAX infront of me. Popped out of nowhere. In yet another example im running down a ridge, and hear a scattercannon behind me. Sounded just like a max, so i pull out my striker and whip around and start running backwards. I look all around as im doing this and I see nothing, but i still hear the shots. THen all of a sudden, im dead, and about a couple seconds later it turns out to be a guy with a jackhammer. He was nowhere visible, just popped out of nowhere, and there was no useable cover to hide behind around me. All of this, was last night. Its just my hunch, ats all. |

------------------------------- Taken from the PS Forum.. ***NOTE: These settings will not be available to you until after tonight's patch (6/10/03).*** It's possible to change your bandwidth settings to restrict or expand the maximum amount of data that you're sending/receiving. This can help smooth out gameplay for low bandwidth users and can even allow smoother gameplay for high bandwidth users if they have the pipeline to support it. The current default is the "Medium" setting below. If you have a 56K modem, you should consider using the "Low" setting and see if it improves your gameplay. If you have a "fat pipe" (T1 or T3), you can consider going with the "High" setting. Most everyone else should be fine with the "Medium" setting. Remember...if you experience gameplay issues at Low or High settings, you should probably revert to the Medium setting. To change your bandwidth settings, type the following in your chat pane while logged into the game. Low Setting /info switchboard cullwatermark 40 80 Medium Setting /info switchboard cullwatermark 80 120 High Setting /info switchboard cullwatermark 120 200 |
