I think my biggest pet pieve about the galaxy is that it's a throw away vehicle. It's so much trouble to get it landed. and then it's chances once on the ground of surviving are tather minimal. THe only gun that seems to be worth a damn is the tail gun because reaver and mosq pilots all seem to have an anal fetish. Here's how the standard gal scenario goes.
Load up in gal at sanc. putter in gal to target, if fight is at target drop team on room, team penetrates or dies horribly in a blazew of glory, Enemy air usualy comes to kill the gal supported by ground fire soon after unless you manage to escape. Now here's the problem, you've got a shot up gal that's going to be vulnerable for a long time and will probly die before you can use it again, not cool. So here's what I propose, you know all those airtowers that are all over the place, how about we put a pad on there, you land the gal on it, hit the button the gal dematerializes and is stored at the tower. It remains until you log off, leave the continent, or the tower changes hands. This same thing whould work for any air vehicle. Ok these next two are a little less drastic. Jumpmaster/crewchief position Nothing fancy here just give one of the passenger slots a downward facing scope with zoom so you can do HALo drops without going right on the level of the tower walls on bases. Yes this will amke galls harder to shoot down after dropping their little blue turds of mayhem but lets face it by that point it's academic anyway isnt it? Final suggestion and one of the most usefull i think. In Neocron they have these tubes basicly reverse gravity fields. THeir used like elevators, lets put some of these on the gal basicly the gravity dampers on steroids. What does this allow people to do, basicly you fly the gal low, hover level and now troops on the ground can board your gal. Obviously vehicles whould still require the gal to land. I mean come ojn people we're in the far future we have a helicoptor pilots wet dream of a vehicle but no ropeladder or lift winch? COme on. Sorry fi this post was a little less lucid then most, it's late.

Well for loading infantry you don't have to land. When running my sniper who pilots a Galaxy I'll drop other snipers on those impossible to reach peaks. Then when the fighting is over or if they need a reload. I'll come from the nearby friendly base swoop low enough to allow them to load up and carry them to reload. As far as dropping your cargo, zoom in your radar and 95% of the time you're arrow is exactly where the Galaxy is so just drop when centered over the base and can be done at flight ceiling. When dealing with other aircraft just do what I do and ram the bastards . It works amazingly well.

The Gal really does get a bum rap. Mostly because a single squad isn't enough to bother protecting one AND carrying out some objective. Most squads that are operating alone want that gal pilot helping out somewhere else once they reach the first base.
I think that a larger outfit, with platoons in the game, will be able to really USE a Gal to it's full potential. Keeping three gunners on it with a reaver or two in the squad on patrol. Maybe even two Gal's like that. The few times I (as a Gal pilot) have been able to just stay in the Gal and keep it out of the way, it's always been there when the rest of the team needs to fly to the next base. Not to mention that I think ground vehicles (like the Deliverer) have been totally overlooked by the majority of players.
