I just got combat engineering 2 days ago. I'm also a newb.
That being said, a few questions. Are motion sensors just for seeing infils? I've seen mines and motions sensors inside a base before, but when I try I can't place them, only the detonator mine inside. Is this because I'm TR or do i need to train something else to place these inside? Thanks. |

Motion sensors are better for just letting you know where the badguys are comming from... decent stealthers wont get uncovered by them (stealther only uncovered by them if they are running).
Place sensors around areas where you need to know if the badguys are comming (near entrances and such). The mines you see inside are boomers (remote detonated...not proximity). They pack a nasty punch and can kill a non-max in 1 shot.

Boomers need to be worked on IMHO.
Low Blast radius and bad LoS on the blast, make for taking a group of enemy troops scarmbling on a AMS Term worthless. Minds are ok. However I can walk over 1 and not die, and thats in a Infil suit. Spitfires are to easy to kill and motion sensitive, meaning crouch and move and you will be fine. v/r |

What other weapon (other than being run over) can kill a non-max and light vehicle in 1 shot? I get most of my kills from boomers... in fact i rarely carry a gun.

Spitfire's are quirky damn things. During parts of beta they were damn killin machines (they would kill a sniper if he tried to shoot at it ...even at max range) and rightfully were nerfed.
My suggestions on making the spitfire a bit better...right now they do ok...but are more a nuance than a threat: 1) Have them fire a bit longer after the person stops. They stop firing way to quickly now... I use them more for finding out where my foes are rather than killing anyone. 2) Have the motion sensors make spitfires shoot at their target longer. 3) Make it so that spitfires automaticly fire if you touch them or get extreamly close...even if crouched. 4) Fix the targeting on spitfires.... they seem to switch targets too quickly Just some suggestions I have....

I just found out for sure last night that you can place Boomers on walls. That's really handy, because most people have gotten used to checking the floor as they move around. Was fun placing boomers just out of sight around corners and then nailing people as the thing goes off at eye level.
