How can I play w/o a vid card

Using an onboard video card. What do I need to do to let the game run on it? I know it's possible, but what are the settings?

Erm...I think I was a little too unspecific. The problem is, whenever I leave the NC Sanctuary or Virtual Reality (sometimes in Sanc as well) I crash. I get a message that alerts me of a device failure (my vid card). I need help with that.

I'm not positive but I doubt PS will run w/o a video card. SOE has never supported on-board sound so I don't think they support on-board video either, not to mention it would probably be very difficult to play without being frustrated. I might be completely wrong though.

1) Click start
2) Click Run
3) Enter this command line: Dxdiag
4) Click the Display tab

This should show you your video card and how much RAM you have installed. I think most on-board mobo's only have 32MB Video Ram and extend it using your regular RAM.

If you need an upgrade, open your case to see if you have an AGP slot (Normally colored brown and offset from the white PCI slots). If you don't have one, I suggest investing $100 and getting this video card. It's not the greatest setup you have, but at least you'll have 128MB available of DDR memory.

You need to include those details in the original post, when I read it the first time it just sounded like "will this work on my onboard card"

I seriously doubt you'll get PS to work well with onboard video. You'll NEED a card (you'll probably need a card for any upcoming game anyway.)

Was working for me last night. Still can't get it to work (Search string can not be space error). Anyway it's a PNY Verto GEFORCE FX 128MB DDR PCI 8X 5200 DUAL VGA. Go look it up on newegg.com. Should be able to find it.

Sorry, dude, looks like you'll need a new card, and I doubt that we'll find a working card where we found that busted up comp last time We can look tho

Oh, and for something a little off-topic

Hello,

PS is a uber 3D game. It will NEVER work with onboard video on most desktop systems. Some laptops have decent graphic's built into them, but most onboard video for desktops are designed only for office applications.

Did you crack the case and look for the brown AGP slot? What brand of computer do you have? What brand of motherboard?

Thanks and sorry for the bad news,
