Funny Gal Story

Flying my gal around amerish, minding my own business. I had dropped my squad off so I was going to try to land. Attempted to land on a rock, that doesnt work, so I scooted over a bit, and WHAM it hit me. I flew sideways from Verica to way out in the West ocean, almost to the edge of the map (where is kills you if you go any farther, etc). It did this in about a second flat, while it did this the gal started to rise, when I stoped moving it rose even faster. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 100m/s+.

I ended up at 2280m's above the middle of the West ocean before things stoped. But I survived. My squad was not happy with me for leaving them behind though. I turned around and headed back to Verica full steam, didnt get below 400m until I was over Verica.

Go Planetside Physics engine!!!! You obviously werent designed for anything larger than a MAX.

ah we all have our favorite physics stories. The only really weird one I have is when I dropped at full altitude from a gal onto a tower. I hit the angled part of the roof and bounced all the way back across the river and into the base that I came from in the gal..... I made the pilot come pick me back up .

Actually i know what ur Talk'n about this has happened to me on a Few Ocassion's! One Time I'm on Hossin I just spawned at a nearby AMS lil bit west of the Mulac Tower! I mosey on back to get equiped and there is like a mosh pit for the equip term! So i wait and i see the term in sight i'm wait'n to press "G". But then som Asshole shoves his way throught nudges me out of the way and I got "Flying" yes literally Flying So Far i ended up in Naum's CY! I dunno if I delted the SS! I'll have to Check!

when i was at the sanctuary i got in a galaxy as a Max and then as it took off i jumped out (with that blue landing stuff) and then instead of landing on the ground...i went right through it. and kept going and i heard wind passing by my head. and i tryed to recall to sanctuary or instant action but i couldnt because it said i was "moving" so then the way out of this was to run across to the ocean then drown myself and respawn...lol

Have had the under the ground thing happen more times than i can count. I would just be walking along and blamn under I go. Once I stopped the slide out to the ocean and walked back to sanc, but I couldn't recall 'cause I was still slightly moving. It's like moving with no resistance. You start moving in one direction and will keep moving that way until you get enough force going in another direction. You can't really stop. Well I couldn't recall so I had to head back to the water and drown. The has happened to me all over the place. I have been standing still also and had it happen. I always send a /bug everytime.

I have also had a gal problem. The main reason I dropped the cert. You can't really land that big pig anywhere. Well not in most places you would like to or thing you can. I tried to land it once on this slight incline near an ams next to a lake. The gal starts to slide off into the water. I found that if your gal gets into a slide, press elevate and forward; sometimes you can break away and get airborne again. Well I just touched the water and I get slightly airborne again. I get flipped over upside down, slammed into 6 trees, almost dead now. Then Miraculously appear airborne at just above tree line. The physics engine takes back over and I go into hover. I check the map I'm on the north west side of the cont, don't remimber which one. I had made the drop at the North central base on the cont. So I limp back over to the base and land. The tail gunner was like what the f was all that. I was like man I don't have a clue. Well he bailed on me and swore to never fly with me again. Oh well, guess he didn't have the stomach for that kind of flying. I mean we survived right.

I've had this a few times, just posted it on the bugs section before i read this. The funniest time was when we touched the warpgate in sanc and found ourselves flying sideways past all the sanc buildings at about 700kph, eventually arrived at one of the other sanc gates and carried on, out over the sea, then into the sea where we all all sat and sicussed how to get out. Said we couldnt recall in a vehicle and if we got out we would drown, yet the Gal was undamaged by the water, just wouldnt move.


Also had the same thing in a magrider once and ended up under a lake, but i could still move. Thing is my gunner was still seeing himself above the water, and shooting loads of things down he held back a whole Zerg and they never even saw him. Bit of exploiting i know, but it was funny and only happened once. I hang my head in shame. Eventually drove out of the water normally.

heres another funny story one of my outfit members told me about: He was in a full squad, and a very elite one, at that. He was the designated gal pilot, and the squad leader ordered him to do nothing but sit there about wait for the squad to return or for him to pick them up. Bored out of his might, he saw a lake nearby. He gained a little alititude and inched over to teh lake.
He dipped the nose of the gal in the water, and kept doing it until he thought he should pull out. Inching in a little more, the gal sank like a rock, and was stuck at the bottom of the lake. Teh squad leader asked: "How's the gal holding up?"
He replied: "Uhhh....REAVERS!!!"

Ive had almost the same experiences with the gal: The uber 1 second trip to Davey Jones locker, and the spelunking expedition that you never come back from. God damn they need to tweak that.
