what do you think is the best song ever written?
obviously, it depends on what mood your in, but two of the best, IMHO [and this is based on the words and how they interact with the music more thna anything] is: Counting Crows - Mr Jones i heard this song first when i was getting a lift to our games field with about 3 other kids in our PE teachers car and he played it [well, it was on the radio] and he was saying about how that song was the theme for one of his years at university and how much he loved it - i downlaoded it and agree. Boys are back in Town - Thin Lizzy yes, yes, i know, its that tacky song that adverts have the chorus for. But lsiten to it, and the verses and you will find out its a great song with a story behind it - and it goes well with the music. [oh, and im listening to my winamp playlist now, and i'm only really liastening to the actualy words of Apple Shampoo by Blink182 and before you all go 'Ugh, pop punk suxx!' ill quote some of the lyrics [they arent all in order]: She didn't mean to deceive you, believe me But sometimes the hardest part is conceiving The good intentions that you had Now only came to this And although she saw the mark The arrow missed I know / just where / I stand / a boy Trapped in the body of a man and I'll take what you're willing to give And I'll teach myself to live With a walk-on part of a background shot From a movie I'm not in i love that last few lines] |

For those bleak depressing Moods
Black Sabath: Solitude I really love music, and lyrics so it's hard for me to pick an all time great, but as over played and tired as it is I have always loved the Lyrics to...... Stairway to Heaven. especially this last verse: And as we wind on down the road Our shadows taller then our soul There walks a lady we all know Who shines white light and wants to show How everything thisll turns to gold And if you listen very hard The tune will come to you at last. When all are one, and one is all To be a rock and not to roll This one has always struck a cord too: Iron Maiden: Revelations Oh God, of earth and alter Bow down and hear our crys our earthly rulers faulter Our people drift and die The walls of gold entomb us The swords of scorn devide Take not thy thunder from us... but Take away our pride. |

My favorite, Watchtower - Jimmi Hendrix. He speaks through his guitar. "Knowledge talks, wisdom listens" - Jimmi Hendrix |

Linkin Park's songs, mainly cuase their songs best describe what i think.
Points of Athority You like to think you're never wrong You want to act like you're someone You want someone to hurt like you You want to share what you've been through (You live what you learn) In the End I tried so hard And got so far But in the end It doesn't even matter I had to fall And lose it all But in the end It doesn't even matter Easier to Run its easier to run replacing this pain with something numb its so much easier to go than face all this pain here all alone Breaking the Habit i don't know what's worth fighting for or why i have to scream i don't know why i instigate and say what i don't mean i don't know how i got this way i know it's not alright so i'm breaking the habit tonight and the song that always come to my mind when io'm posting on PSU, Nobody's Listening try to give you warning but everyone ignores me [told you everything loud and clear] but nobody's listening call to you so clearly but you don't want to hear me [told you everything loud and clear] but nobody's listening like my long list with all the chorus'? |
