Ever since the last patch i have noticed that text on the curved wing things in the bases. When gone up to them and we have not yet cotrolled base, it say base has been hacked, not your emire bla bla blah. Does this mean that we can use them for something?? I tried to hack them and nothing. Anyone have any ideas as i was hoping they could repair vehicles??

That repair silo is right up against the wall. I imagine theres going to be HUGE jams in major battles with vechicals trying to get to it, and vechicals trying to get away after repairing...
I think they should think about some better placment, or perhaps a "car-wash" try of building where the vechical drives into... |

The "car wash" idea would be a much better implementation, the time it takes on the silo isn't going to deter everyone, especially newbs that dont know any better, from piling up on those things, or just parking their vehicles next to it and leaving. Maybe if they make them very weak so they are unusable the minute a fight breaks out near them.
It is a very needed item though, reloading from the equipment teminals is a pain. |

You got to be fuking kidding me. This idea blows. This is one of the reasons I HATE BATTLEFIELD 1942. Repair area campers. I know you'll say that won't happen, an in all cases, it probably won't. But one of the things I LOVE about this game, is that nothing BUT Engineers can repair a vehicle. That's how it SHOULD be. Jesus H. Christ. Nothing worse than having a Battle tank sitting there, being constantly repaired, and blowing away anyone that it sees. These repair campers were a Bitch to kill in BF1942, and it'll probably be the same here.
But that's just MY opinion. |

A tank would roll into YOUR base, and shoot YOUR teammates, and drive onto YOUR pad, and YOUR base would repair it. wtf is up with that? It even works with bases that can't be capped. Although with the new patch where spawning no longer drains NTU's, this is probably where a good portion of the NTU's in a base will go. |

They've actually done alot to fix the repair bay camping issues in BF1942. Hangers dont repair anything but planes now (therefore no one uses them), and they may have lengthened the repair time on the pads a bit, because taking out some fool on a repair pad is easy, a couple well palced ex-packs can do the trick, and another tank can take them out without too much difficulty as long as they come from the rear. Even a plane can usually take it out if the pilots accurate enough.
Planetside will have trouble though. The congestion next to the silos, which will largely be due to campers, will be really frustrating. A "car wash" design would be better. |

I cant wait for this to go in, but I agree that it should not do a vehicle repair. The ammo refilling of vehicles is what sucks, not repairing, and it sucks especially hard for a 3 weapon vehicle like the Liberator. If people just park there for ammo it will go a lot faster and not cheeze out the Engineer certification
