Ok, I admit it....I havent played PS since beta ended. I just like this forum and need somewhere to spout my rhetoric.
So, with that in mind..... My question to all of you is: Now that the game has had a chance to run awhile, does it have the longevity of gameplay that you'd hoped for? or has it become redundant and/or repetitive? Is it still fun 6 months down the road? bottom line, do you still play and is it still fun? Constructive comments welcome. Honest opinions as well but keep your flamethrower in your pants....k? k. x

paingiver hits the nail on the head.
I quit the game after about a month and a half, because it just didn't have enough 'meat' in it. The bases should be much harder to get into, and I wouldn't mind some much larger bases. As it stands, the game is basically Tribes2 with about 10 conjoined maps making up a continent. Someone could make a Tribes2 mod with the same replayability as this game. I don't mean this as a flame, just as the reason that I don't like it. This game is the first of it's kind, and I really like that this genre has been breached. But compare Ultima Online to SWG and you'll see how far the MMOFPS genre needs to be before I'll jump in again. That said, I'll probably wait for the next MMOFPS to come out (since you know there'll be more) and just buy it. The first contender is rarely the best.

If you wiped out all the bugs, made larger bases, stopped the crashes, and made the combat more realistic, I'd be glad to play. Raindow Six combat is better, a couple shots to an unarmored target and they're dead.

but would u wana take a couple shots when you taveled so far? I wouldn't.
the game is ok, when i dont lag alot and when i kill alot, it gets really fun......and then boring......but i rather pay for PS than for a game on my gaycube (i dunno why the hell i choosed cube, but som games are good). T ho what really sux is that my mom is like anti-onlinegaming. since i can't play online with my aol account i hav to ak my mom to get me on her account. and that REALLY pissed me off last night. "hey could i play online?" "have you done all your hw?" "yes" "when did you get on the computer?" "4" "you do kno if i see 1 single missing assingment on ur progress report (every3 weeks i get current grades), your off the computer for the rest of the semester" "i kno" "well i have to use the computer anyways right now" what the fucking shit? well she did let me play-3 hours after i asked. and then my brother came in asking if he could play. after i told him no 23 times he goes and calls my mom. "Kelley(my name) let him play, you played all day and he never gets to play" now, WHAT THE HELL?!?! He never asked when i was playing before my mom came home. and out of all the times he could've asked, he asked 10 minutes after i start playing PS. GOD, i got so pissed. and also he used my new headset and lost the foamy thingy to the mic, so i'm gona yell at him wen he gets home where is it. But GOD DAMN! These are the few reasons why I hate my parents....or mom, since my dad lives in florida...or is moving there. man, she is a spoiled bitch, she's been living with her parents all her life pretty much (and still is). man.....i sometimes wish my mom actually adopted me instead of listening to my grandpa....i mean my dad left i think cause he didn't want a kid.....bleh.........I'm not paying for the monthly fee this month and last month. |

well, it failed New Dawn and broke the clan up. pretty much all of us stopped playing Planetside (except a few hardcore few) and many of us moved on to SWG and formed the New Dawn Corp. but the rest of us who are FPS'ers at heart broke off and formed the Sundown Saints ( ). to which we play some Counter-strike, The Specialist, Natural Selection, Raven Shield, and a little BF1942 with its mods as well... as we paitently await HL2 (and its mods) as well as other upcoming FPS's..
so in short: yes Planetside failed me(us) almost 2 years of anticipation and a year of planning for nothing.... ah well the cycle continues..... |

Guess I'm the odd man out .. I still enjoy playing the game. Found out about it via my brother-in-law who was playing the beta and started when it was released.
Yeah, there are some issues they need to address .. and they are it appears. So I'll be sticking around for some time.
