Military Ranks

I notice that our titles have changed to military ranks.

I have no clue what the ranks mean (I know little about military command structure).

Could someone list all the military ranks... so I know what say... a sergent major is?

Bah going from Sgt Major to Leutenant whould be a demotion and a pay cut by most peoiples standards. :P

Besides Sgt Majors and Chief Master Sgts can get away with so much shit that a Lt whould get written up on conduct unbecoming.

Um.....someone messed up. The rank of General (4 stars) is the highest rank an officer can achieve, excluding the 5 star General/Admiral. And that's reserved only for times of war. That's when you have the General of the Army, General of the Air Force, and Fleet Admiral. And as far as I know, there is no General of the Marines. Most likely because they are part of the Department of the Navy. And if you are a Joint Chief of Staff, you don't outrank other 4 Star Generals/Admirals. It's just a job title, nothing else. Wow....can you tell that I'm in the military? Enough rambling for now. My apologies.

I gotta agree with him Hamma, Joint Chief is not a rank but a position. Yes they are a General (no pretitle) supperior to other Generals but it's still not a rank.
