Which one is the best server.

I would like to know which is the best server. Also, I am a little confused on Planetside and the Expansion. I am on the trial version. What should I buy to get both?

I employ a system of playing on whichever server is favored by the time of day. If a server is too busy, I play a less populated one, and if a server is dead, I'll go to a busier one.

In general, I'd say Konried and Johari, because they need the population and you're much less likely to find yourself in an overpopulated battle where lag and zerging can be a drain on your fun.

Go for Konried in the afternoon/evening. It's got a good population without overdoing it. The devs don't want everyone to play on Emerald, anyhow.

What you need to play PS and CC are both of the software. You need Planetside in order to play Planetside and Core Combat. But you only need Core Combat to play Core Combat. SOunds confusing? Not really. Core Combat is like any expansion. To play the expansion, you need the expansion plus the base game. To play the game, you need the game, but you don't need the expansion to play the base game.

As for best server, that would depend on what you want, who you want to be, and what kind of system, and modem you use. If you got a telephone modem, I'd suggest you forget about Planetside.

Most people will say Emerald, but that's becasue they pull over 10000 a week. I prefer Konried becasue the population is still large enough to have massive zergs, but other Conts will have smaller 20 on 20 fights which are my favorite. The competition is also pretty tight on Konried.

Nah we got guys in my outfit that are high level that play via modem, so it is possible.

I play Werner for time zone and a quiet fight and Emerald when I just want to run around like Serious Sam with my Minigun

Zerging is when you just swarm the enemy to win, zero tactics.

Did you ever play Starcraft? Remember the hordes of zerglings? Thats the source of that one.

One of these days we're gonna hear some General on TV saying that even though we have better trained and equiped troops we lost the battle to the zergs of Iraqi/North Korean/Belgian soldiers...

The irony of the zerg is that it may be comprised of players all rushing a defensive perimeter, but the people that originally placed the AMS/Router and directed the swarm reigned in the chaos and used it for a higher purpose. PS has tons of strategy, and it rocks.

i play on markov and the fights get so long its boring and we dont get anywhere... i am going to start playing on johari cause i usually play at night Pacific time so its not as laggy since i play in both us wests :P but im playing on konried also

play whichever server is closest. i play on markov and johari because they are west coast servers. in the end, it's all about ping and computing power, so go with the server that's going to give you the smoothest ride

Markov and Emerald are the big servers of the five or so. Then Werner, then Johari and Korriened or however u spell those two.

Go to Markov and get slaughtered by us TR....or fight with us....you choose.

Thanks for the replies guys. If I understand it correctly on every server I join i need a new character. It has been difficult for me on my own to try to increas battle rank. Its my 4th day on the trial software. (By the way I am going to go buy it.) I always am getting killed. How the heck am i going to increase rank with low body armor and weak weapons? I would also like to know why there is bad lag sometimes. Where are these servers?

Ehh. I currently play on Emerald, but I am hugely considering moving to Markov. 'Cause of these things:

1. The name "Sphynx" is available. Hell yeah!
2. Emerald lags WAY too much, even on a good system.
3. Most of the skilled people are on Markov.
4. Platoon 3092. I saw their training video, I'd like to join.
5. The devs don't want everyone on Emerald.

Blorg. I live in Maryland too, but I don't care. I play on Werner occasionally, and Europe isn't exactly a cakewalk away, and I don't get lag.

Try all five. Each for like, a day. But, since you're on trial, eek.

PS. About you getting killed. When I first got PS I didn't know anything about fighting, all I knew is to aim and hold the mouse button down. It's more than that. Use tactics. Like sidestrafing, it makes it harder for them to aim. That kinda stuff. In maybe one month time I was a killing machine.
