Why im getting rid of Heavy Assault (Jackhammer)

The other day i started playing as a TR on Markov, and seeing all my friends with their Jackhammers vs. me wasnt cool, ill still be playing NC but i do agree that the Jackhammer is pretty fucking cheap at times. Id encourage others to do the same (think of what you could buy with the extra 4 cert points)

If I play NC, I grab HA for the first few BR's - The disgusting amount of kills you get with it help you level up real quick. When I hit 7, I drop it.

No offense, but your highest guy being at BR8 doesn't qualify you as a pro in levelling. It's easy as sin to get the first few BRs anyway. I can get to BR10 in 2-3 hours. Grab an AI max, kill things. Easy.

The Jackhammer isn't that great of a weapon. Its range blows chupacabra balls. The chaingun rules it in almost every respect, especially range. The JH does have its charms, including the ability to tear through armor a little better than the chaingun IMHO, but it sucks against large numbers of people(mainly because of limited shots), which both the VS and TR heavy weapons are good against.

I deleted a BR10, BR18, and BR7 characters to play with a new group of people on a different empire. I'm still switching empires around to see which suits me best. With the merger, however, it's that much easier.

And I never claimed to be a pro in levelling - I just said its disgustingly easy to kill stuff with a jackhammer. I've had more luck killing things with a pulsar than with a lasher, fucking slow orbs.

I have been playing NC for a while using nothing but Sweeper/AV to get kills, and I am bored stiff, I am in the process of dropping AV and Rexo and adv med to get HA, SA and buff my deliverer into a skeeter.

Also, MCG owns. My TR loves it, br 8 in one night of playing. (Also, those 4 base hacks were all for less than 1000 each got them by accident because I did not feel like recalling to miss hack.)

(just fyi, I am not so psyched about getting jackhammer, I cannot wait to fill my locker with MCGs )

Yeah,

This new multi-empire capability will get many players to try their hand at another empire. Being on the recieving end of a JackHammer is no fun. As TR and VS I loot them any chance I get. As NC I don't have the desire to loot anything. I think the hardest heavy trooper to beat is a NC Rexo with a Gauss and a JH. He will kill anything but a sniper at long ranges and will beat any other HA at CQB. Simple ownage. Fortunately MAX units and vehicles keep this combo to a rare status. Usually, you see the JH and Deci combo more.

I got rid of the JH with my NC character too. I prefer a challenge. For my 4 cert points I upgraded my engineering and hacking to CE and Advanced Hacking. I even gave up MA for the Infiltration suit. I specialize in infantry support as a cloaked killer/medic/engineer/hacker. It's amazing when faced with a cloaker and a Rexo soldier how many people let the cloaker completely distract them.

Also please please if you must exit your vehicle to repair stand on the yellow icon that lets you mount the vehicle. If you start taking damage just press "G" or whatever you configured to enter the vehicle. You are immune to damage when the mounting animation starts... you should NEVER get killed when working on your ride... yet, it happens all the time...

I would never give up the JH! I think that if the VS and TR can't kill me then that is there problem and they should go and do something about it if they can.

I'm too laggy to use close combat weapons effectively. My sweeper is for self defense, and it usually fails me as I get 10fps in a shooting match and always aim behind the enemy as they warp across my screen.

No thanks. I already get owned at mid-close range (>10m) by MCGs and even some Lashers. You want me to get owned at cqc too? The JH is not fucking cheap at any time. It sucks at any range but <15m period. But indoors, there's not another weapon I'd rather have.
