I have seen this on every fire department in NJ so I got to thinking. I have always wanted to be a fireman since I was little. Not full time just volunteer. Has anyone here had any experience with being a volunteer firefighter, is your dad or uncle (or mom?). I would like some info on the life of a volunteer firefighter first or secondhand before I start looking for a house in a town with a good volunteer co.

What do you want to know? I'm not on the station myself but my best friend and his uncle both are. His uncle has been there for over 10 years. I can forward any questions you have to him and paste what he writes into the forum, if you want.

Theres a shitload of volunteer firefighters up here. I think they are like the guys that help the people after the fire or something, not the ones who break down the door and enter hell.
But i could be wrong, it could be the other way or it could be choosable.
