I wouldn't waste $10 a month for a domain in order to tell a joke. I wonder how much of a nerd the guy who created that site is, anyway.

It is illegal to share aswell as download. It is called distribution of stolen property.

Under the DMCA (Digital Millenium Copywrite Act) which governs all digital media: Possession of copywrited digital media which you didn't purchase or enter a contract/liscencing agreement with the owner to obtain is illegal.
Making a digital copy of digital media whether you own it or not is illegal unless stipulated in a liscencing agreement. This is irrespective of whether you intended it for backup purposes or for distribution.
Breaking or circumventing copy protection on digital media (CSS on DVDs for instance) is illegal.

Alot of the DMCA is becoming very hard to enforce (thankfully), but sharing and downloading pirate music was criminal before the DMCA came into being.

That being said, I have 80GB of pirate games, music, movies and software on my pipe network that is freely available. Fuck the DMCA, it borders on violating many privacy and freeuse laws, some of which would be protected by your constitution if your in the USA. I am exercising my right to reasonable protest by exchanging pirate digital media and am saving myself a shit load of money at the same time.

That website is pretty funny.

Where in the constitution does it say we have a right to privacy?

Must have missed that one
