Thats pretty good. What about sound card? You could use a bit more ram if you want to run PS smoothly also...

Are you getting this all from one place? Your pulling your old video card, can't use any of the other parts from it? You have to buy XP?

If it came out to $600... its a little over what I would pay. Seems like $500 tops worth of stuff. You will prolly want to run at 1024, but fairly low settings. None of the adv features on. Should still look fine. But won't be smooth with 512 ram and a SE.

it looks decent to me for that price. Dump that ethernet card you don't need one with that MoBo, you have integrated i think (check before you do).

nope i cant sue any parts from mt old one for my new one. my ram is pc133 i have 512 of that. my processor is a 1200mhz pentuim/ and plus im not that really good with tech stuff for a computer.

well, before tax and shipping that comp was $494, tax was like $49 and shipping was $65. and win xp comes with it. the sound card is that integrated crap, im getting it all from one palce and im putting my vid card taht i have in my new one when it gets here. as for RAM imma buy another stick of 512 eventually just not right now. that comp is way better then the one i have now.

i heard some where a 2600+ is good to overclock. also is there a link to a program i can get to OC my vid card.

If you still can, don't buy the ethernet card. Like rbstr said it has integrated. 2 integrated jacks infact one 10/100 and another 1000. The integrated sound is just fine, unless you really are lagging bad and want a little boost. If so just buy like a $50 sb live so the mobo doesn't have to do it itself.

If you're building it, ditch the ram and get 1gig of PC2700, no point getting faster ram than your FSB, unless you're overclocking

Edit - you are overclocking.

Do not get a 2600+

Why, I hear you ask?

Get a 2500+, these use the Barton core, and have more on board L2 cache, and they perform just as well, and are better for demanding apps because of that cache.

Also, 2500+ bartons are a BEAST for overclocking, most people can get them to 3000+ speeds with stock heatsink easily

I'd also dump that video card. Any card that has SE attached to the end is just an underpowered unit that didn't make the ATI specs. Get a 9600pro or, if you have the additional $25, get the XT.

well it seems to me that he doen't have the means for a new vidcard, but i bet he could flash it to a 9600np or even a Pro, flashing = teh win.

Yeah i forgot that the 2600+ wasn't a barton try to grab that 2500 like then you can make use of your ddr400 if you OCit enough(migh have to unlock and lower the Multiplier though)

Yes, it's better. But for $50 more you could have the performance of a 9600pro.
