ok this is an opinion, there like assholes evry one has one. i think the empiers should be based on two pluses and not one, it will make sence in a sec.
ok this is a little chart to explain what im talking about. TR best in:speed means: faster ROF and faster reload at the cost of:power and mobility means: has lower than normal weapon dmg and normal vech speed NC best in:power means: more powerful dmg and more powerful armor at the cost of:speed and mobility means: lower than norm ROF and slower than normal vechs VS best in: mobility means:faster troops and vechs at the cost of: power and speed means:normal dmg lower than normal armor and normal ROF ok evry will have the old VS plus "versitility" meaning that evry empier will ether have two weapons that are in the same catagory but are to difrent weapons and/or has two fireing modes. ex. the cycler will have a nade luancher added that can only fire frag... why? cus you still need a reason to use the punisher. on to a nother point, there should be a empire style of evry weapon meaning all empires should have there own style of an auto-matic pistol, shotgun, sniper rifle, nade luancher, balistic AV weapons(missle and a seperat bellet fead weapon... like the M60... if i remember right), balistic AM weapons(same as AV but completly seperet weapons), and AI mines. same with vechs but they are... light buggy, light tank, scout atv, scout aircraft, APC, light air apc, and artiliry unit... i will cover most is not all of these in this post... warning some mey not have names sorry. now to make PS more intristing we need to make it more squad on squad and have BIG battle less often then we have now... dont get me wrong i LOVE the big battles but it just seems less taticaly advanced when the CR5's say "attack the NC/TR/VS" when they could be saying "ok we need a tank squad to move in and suport a troop platoon and SO and SO and a light tank squad to free some space for the artility i just called" that would be sweet. now i have got a little ahead of my self... lets back up. thinking about all this new stuff means you as a trooper will have a lot of plaing to do when going on a mission. so as you read the next part think of you empire and what you think would help you in battle with this implanted... got it? to make things more tatical we have to spread the lines out... how you ask, well the best thing to do would be to make sure the commanders and troops have more things to watch out for. these are what they are as it stainds right now... themselves,the the llu, the hack, the enemy... thats not a lot so people get cout in the same area trying to do the same thing... and a zerg happons. again i will have a little semi chart to show you what i mean... new mini base called the SAT link... sat is short for satilite... they have a SOI and in that SOI you are able to use global chat, cud abilitys, and see all the friendlys in the SOI on your map(this includes other owned sat link sites. there will always be one less that 200m from a tower. they will always be on a hill that NO land vech can climb and it always has one AA gun... flack... means you HAVE to take it with troops. a new items called artifacts. they give your empire a nother wat to lock a cont. to lock a cont you will need all eight... and yes they go in you module cratels... means you lose one spot for a module...they are randomly set in hiding places... some out in the open and some in tres, behind rocks, and some in the water... little lakes not the big rivers.when you pick up an artifact evry one can see you... much like the modules. adding an ability to the ANT to gather ammo. Say you are in a tank squad and you have been holding a hill for two hours and you ammo for you main gun and your nono is running low... if you had a full ANT you could get out of your tanks and go refill... i know the loadstar also does this but its REALY BIG and REALY notice able... the ANT is a small light vech that can help with sealth missions. new link system.they work using towers, but the there can only be to links made at the same time with the same tower. in the tower respawn area there is a little ladder down into the "command center" wich has its Alt cc, this cc looks like a base cc and is what you need to "use" to set up a link. so as a member of your empire yuo need to get as many towers a posable. thats not all of it... i have to go but i will be back and edite this post to add the rest... i will go deeper into the weapons and give you some settings to think about my suggestion. :D |

I think there might be some decent ideas in there....but....I'm not...sure? While you're going back and editing, make sure to have a dictionary or something handy... Yeah, still too hard to read everything there. Hate to be the grammar/spelling Nazi, but formal ideal presentations are just that...formal. Make sure the writing reflects that so we understand what you actually mean. Sure, what I think you're proposing with the weapons sounds cool, but at the same time it adds up to a LOT of extra artwork and textures. PS has a hard enough time with what it actually has. I'd settle for the empire's having almost completely identical weapons if you could tell me that we wouldn't have any more lag slowdown or technical glitches...that and it'd shut up all the whiners about weapons balance. Anyway, in terms of gameplay changes, I'd hold off suggesting them until Capitols are in and we have an idea on how that's going to affect things. The one thing that they DO need to do is expand the lattice to more points (i.e. - not just bases) so that more open field battles occur, not just at the bases. This is especially true of the "long haul" continents (e.g. - Tore -> Itan on Cyssor...Enkidu -> Kusag on Ish, Aja -> Chuku on Ish etc.)...so much land between those links going to waste. Of course, they said they're re-doing the Lattice with capitols, so we need to see. But I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that the lattice could still stand some expansion afterwards. |

Not to be an asshole but I have posted something very similar like this in a thread called "Ps needs to be more tactical" I dont think that the lines between weapons should be so clear though. I.E. not everyone has a different version of the same weapon. Maybe TR gets a special weapon that has great ROF but dosent fit in the other categories and the NC/VS have something else. Same with vehicles. Not everyone should have a type of heavy buggy and a type of tank, they should be mixed but balanced.

ok this was a sudden idea for me, how about melee weapons... i mean if you were in a war that you could never be killed for mor than 5 mins would you not try somthing not normal? stiill you have to think about it its just a game...
there would be four styles of weapons adn each empire would have there own fighting style. the weapons would be a beyinat(sp?) knife, sword, spear.... now i know your thinking this would turn PS into EQ... well i hated EQ and PS is not a overhead RPG its a FPS and would rock to have melee duals in large battles. the weapons will look like the knife we already have (ex. a TR sword looks like a chain-saw/sword hybrid) your left and right mouse buttons operat the weapon(a left or right attack) now the sword and spear should have massive AI dmg and NO AV/AM dmg nor could they be used with surg. the sword and spear take up a rifle slot but the beyinat is put on the weapon so it takes not space. |

Well tr is suposed to have fast firing and be heavy armored, with slow vech do to that armor.
NC is suposed to be heavy hitting with med speed/armor VS is suposed to be lighter hitting with less armor but better speed but somewere along the line that kinda got scraped

Ugh would everyone stop with the melee weapon ideas. We need this game to be slower paced and make you think more not bunny hop and use your "uber nife of d00m!" Besides I would rather get one new empire spec. weapon than 4 knifes per side, its not needed.
