....Hmmmm....
I need a little ram help. I plan on buying more ram for my computer. I all ready have 256mb's. What I was wondring is do I have to buy a stick of 256mb or can I just buy a stick of 512mb and just throw it in there with it? Edit: please answer quickly.... |

waht kind of ram do you have, if you have Rambus you can't(it can only in in either 2 identical or 4 identical doen't work otherwise) ddr you could

You could try matching it in your BIOS, thats the easiest way I can think of without downloading anything.
Names Base FSB Speed DDR RAM Speed PC-1600 or DDR-200 - 100MHz - 200 MHz PC-2100 or DDR-266 - 133MHz - 266 MHz PC-2400 or DDR-300 - 150MHz - 300 MHz PC-2700 or DDR-333 - 166MHz - 333 MHz PC-3200 or DDR-400 - 200MHz - 400 MHz If you buy PC-3200 and you have PC-2700 RAM, the PC-3200 will only run at 2700, thus wasting your money on better RAM, which isn't actually running any better than the cheaper 2700 stick. |
