I am heading out today to buy a game, a FPS to be exact, and I was wondering which one of these you would reccomend and why?
Just to let you know, I am kinda looking for a Multiplayer type game, but if it has a good single player campaign it will do just as good... Thanks in advance. EDIT: Or UT2004

I think that Far Cry has the best singleplayer I've ever played. Theres so many things you can do. You can not shoot a bullet and win. Plus the graphics are definitively the best ever made so far. I think only Doom 3 will compare to the engine.

If multiplayer is what you want, BF:V is probably the best of the 3. UT2004 is a decent multiplayer game too. It just doesn't involve as much strategy or team work as BF:V does (potentially anyway). Farcry is definately the most advanced of the 3, as far as graphics, physics, and AI, but it's definately more focused on the single player game. Farcry was made for the sole purpose of showing off the CryTek engine, and nothing more.

If your looking for a single player, farcry is your best bet. Multiplayer, I'd go with UT2004 because of all the mods that are coming out for it. UT2004 is so easy to mod for it's not even funny. Even if you totally hate everything that UT2004 does, buy it anyway. There will be tons of mods that completely change the game. I myself already have UT2004 and the UT2004RPG (which is teh pwnage) and am waiting for frag.ops, which looks SOOOOOO nice.

I don't see why so many people think that large numbers of mods make for a better multiplayer experience. Even in the TRIBES1 days I only ever played on classic, and didn't really like the mods.
Personally I prefer a consistent multiplayer experience. A handful of game types are fine, though.
