What is the appeal of a forum for you?

For me it would have to be making 'friends' and being able to feel at home whilst browsing a forum at school. Plus it's far better than going to sites like funnyjunk.com as my friends do.

For me it's to have friends, get help, joke, etc. You guys are my brothers, I have more respect for you guys than 95% of the other people I know.


The things I hate about forums are asshole admins who think they're so much better than everyone else. They are cold to everyone, they don't bother to forge friendships, and they throw out bans to the good posters as happilly as the bad ones. W13 from zybez, this runescape board where was a senior goddamn fucking mod of a community with over 50 highly active users, and Brianstevz from Pro-American are like that. Wingnut on Pro-A, the other mod, is nice, but Brian's evil. I like this place because you get a better feeling that Hamma gives a crap about his users. Hamma is active on the boards, he hangs with the rest of us, instead of being completely aloof and only posting to announce he banned someone for cussing.

Simple, it's an internet pub. Lot's of different people come for different reasons, but only the losers leave sober.

I like coming here to see what's been going on with you guys. You start interesting discussions and post funny things that I wouldn't have seen otherwise, and yeah, like Sobekeus said, it's like an internet pub
