1. Does he have a monitor?
2. Does he have a case?
3. Does he have his peripherals (speakers, headphone, mouse, keyboard)?

He says he has it all... He has an HP pavilion but he basically wants upgrades for it. And from the sounds of it. He really needs upgrades

256mb Radeon 9800 Pro
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe
P4C 2.8GHz 800MHz front side bus
1 gig OCZ DDR PC3200 dual channel memory (2-2-3-6 timings)

I think that'll be close to a thousand. With that upgrade he can play any game on the market at max settings.

well, i can post now. thank god!

i only have $350 right now. i can pull some more out of the bank. according to corrosion i need atleast $500, becuase not only do i need a new graphics card, processor and a ram upgrade, but i need a new motherboard aswell. upgrading my computer is the cheapest route.

i looked around newegg, and found a 2.8 gb processor for 99$. i belive its a petium. ill have to check. i also found a nvidia geforce 5700 for 89$. turns out ill need a gb of ram.

sorry tek, but i want to get on ps ASAP. just saw the movies at malvision and a few others. i am in awe. i need something more around 500, including processor, graphics card, ram upgrade and a new motherboard. graphics card i care the least about. i want atleast a 2.8 gb processor and according to corrosion ill need a gb of ram...

the processor i found is only 400 mhz, compared to your 800. how will that affect gameplay?

dude, when playing games the GPU is more important than your processor. well for most games.

BTW, this would go a lot quicker if you look it up yourself, its not really that difficult to learn what you need for gaming and about those items.
