wtf!?!

I recently have acquired the game KotoR from a friend. Upon installation, it worked. According to the diagnostic, it said I met the minimum specs easily. I fired it up, and video fucking lag. So, I turn ALL settings to the lowest possible, and the gamr runs decently.

However, when I get into the apartment, I hit "w" And suddenly, the game flips out and I can barely do anything. I clip into random walls, have no control of my avatar, and was only able to exit by the luck of my avatar slamming himself into the door.

I get to the area outside, and, upon initiating combat, I draw my sword, and go to attack.

However, the game doesnt show any other frames other than the initial "beginning battle" frame.

I have a 1.7 GHz, 1 gig of 2100 DDR, and a GeForce FX 5200. Not a horrid system at all, and I get good frames in planetside.

How the fuck can a game company be allowed to release a game this flawed?

Kotor has severe stability problems, so you'll have to download the most recent patch. However, I noticed that I still have random crashes to desktop despite having the most updated version. Sad, but true.

Indeed, upon loading new areas it's common so if I forget to save before leaving an area there's a good chance I'll lock up my comp and lose my progress. I normally yell goddamnit or something and whack my desk

I've heard awesome things about KoTor, but I never really got into it, but now that I like SWG I'm not worried about the Star Wars theme, does anybody hear think it's NOT a good game?

I've been playing KotOR all fucking week, it's bad ass. I think it hung on me once.
Playing lightside is way harder than dark, being evil gets you more xp, and $$$.

I have NEVER heard ANYONE speak poorly about it. It's one of the best RPGs ever made, so immersive and fun.
