Get a keygen. Sometimes stooping to their level isn't such a bad thing.

Personally, I really hate piraters. I'm glad to make the statement that I"ve never pirated a game. But really, all piraters are doing is hurting the developers of the game, and people who legitimately bought the game.

I mean, let's take Call of Duty for example. Let's just say Call of Duty has 1 million unique CD Keys playing. Generally, 7 out of every 10 copies of a game is pirated. Call of Duty sells for $45 retail, so that's $45 million. So they only make $13.5 million. Take into account production costs, employment fees, and the such, and you're down to about $6 million. Then, the publishers get a good deal of that. You're left with $3 million. That's NOT a lot of money.

Since I wish to pursue a career in this type of field, I really think pirating is what's going to bring the gaming industry down.

Acually, the game company fucked up. Putting the key in at install does not check to see if it has been used. And apperanlty it dosent check for playing online either. No anti warez security at all, you should just download a keygen or such.

/edit/ speaking from what i have been told.

Well, if there is a game that I am seriously considering getting, I want to try it out to make sure it isn't all hype. I'll pirate it, play it for a day, then make the decision whether to buy it or not.

This is for games that don't release demo's. This way, the industry doesn't lose any money it wouldn't have gotten anyway.

Did that sentance make any sense?

There are plenty of other ways to sample a game.

- Game Reviews (I know people don't like them, but if you get a review from enouch reliable sources, you can tell whether or not you'd like it)
- Demo's, already said
- Borrow the game.

Yeah, tbh, I'm really starting to get annoyed with all the "acquiring" going on in this community. Pay for the games you play, bums.
