[Airsoft/Pics]Operation Irene II -- Joelton AFB, Tennessee

Been at a huge ass Airsoft Event at Joelton Airforce Base. It was 3 days long including Friday. 4 Full Rifle Platoons. Charlie and Delta Company. I was in Delta led by Msgt. Mad Max Mullen and Charlie was led by Col. Danny McKnight (the Colonel who led the rescue operation in Black Hawk Down Crisis in Mogadishu). The suprising thing was both of them played. The coolest part was at the end when they gave AEGs away that Mullen and Mcknight were using. Two Systema M16s, that cost about 1,200 a piece, EXTREMELY top quality stuff.

First Day was friday and some guys organized a small skirmish within Delta Co. Second Day it began. First a quick briefing, as Col. Mcknight put it "Mullen just gave you the John Kerry version of this Op, I just want you to shoot, hual, ass and have fun, and if there are any kerry fans, im sorry, I can say anything I want the army cant do anything to me anymore". The first scenario was a race for both sides to the office complexes. 2nd Platoon hauled ass to Offices A and B which we managed to hold. I was one of the first to arrive moving with my Fireteam (Fireteam Halo). We moved and covered all corners of the complex and after arugeing with some mock civilians got a two man sniper team on the roof. I peek out from behind the corner and a platoon from Charlie was running across a field with limited cover for several yards. Halo opened fire, took out a ton of Charlie. I get hit and the medic comes over and I draw a card its a Sergeant card which means I have to lay down for 5 minutes then get back into the fight without having to walk back to spawn. 5 Minutes later, I get back up and move inside when all of the sudden, we hear civilians saying Charlie Co got 100 Points Deducted for shooting two civilians. Next thing I know im hit, I lay down for another 5 minutes and no medic arrives. Charlic has Office B. Back to Respawn. A mixed 2nd and 3rd Squad element took flanking positions along a ridge. 2nd Squad layed down suppressive fire while, 3rd ran across. We pushed Charlie Co out of B and had them on the run. We captured barracks and other buildings which were worth 10 points each. Charlie Co still had Office A which only counted for 30 Points, and after shooting another civilian the score was Delta 900, Charlie -120.

The second scenario was us defending houses, and holding them from Charlie, 3rd Squad took up positions on the road incase Charlie decided to attack head on. Luckily it didnt happen but our squad got seperated and I met up with some other guys to sneak into the motor pool. We crawl down the trench and see Mcknight. Me and a guy called "Helmet" opened fire, we took out about 5 (including Mcknight). Me and Helmet moved back to the housing complexes houses 2 and 3 were captured by Charlie. But the entire Delta company was being flanked by Charlie, I get hit from both sides and get down and put the death rag on my head. I look to my right and I see Col. McKnight, all of us being shot out by each other's team. Col. Mcknight told us to get toghether because "the yokels on your team might figure it out, or seeing delta and charlie mixed toghether will confuse the hell out of them". Point for Point, Delta barely won the second scenario. I didnt stay for the night game

Day 3. Another Briefing, we move out and clear houses while looking for 12 hostages. Charlie ended up getting 8 hostages, while Delta got 4 but it wasnt enough to even the game. During the last 3 minutes of the game we had a platoon in the Mess Hall however, Charlie was flanking bad. Then all of the sudden 20 guys left the Mess Hall and Charlie was moving in to flank us five guys still left. I see the barrel of an AK in the door way, we open up with semi automatic bursts. Me and my Battle Buddy move to the side and prepare grenades. I throw and a small wall bounces the grenade back at me, he throws and the grenade bounces back at him. The Squad leader throws from another corner and it lands right by the guy with the AK. He tries to call him out but the guy says grenade rules arent in effect. Its a WTF? moment but if he isnt out, neither are we. So we rejoin the fight and take up positions. Still letting off Semi bursts (Only Semi indoors according to the rules). Then the guy with the AK leans out, we both fire and he hits me in the chin and leaves me with a small blood blister luckily, I got him in the leg and we are both out. No more regen and the game is over a few minutes later. During the last game we had a mock Black Hawk down scenario which was cool. Here are the pics.
