HL2 Problems Lets hear em gang!

Well mine was STARTING THE GAME!

Loaded 90% into the first chapter and got a fatal read error, CD drive spun up and my comp crashed!

WAY TO GO VALVE!

And I have, yes all the latest drivers.

Ran it again, when the status bar reaches to the last one to go, I hear a fient "ding ding ding ding ding" my CD Rom fires up and the game crashes, locking EVERYTHING up.

Making sure I have the latest SB files, think I do, but checking anyway

I got it to start fine, watched the first minute of the intro, now I'm going to bed.

My problem. NO GAME. I have to wait another 3 hours for the damn store to open so I can buy it. I called them and they aren't open. WTF.

Looks like a RAM-related problem. You could try running it on one stick, and swapping it for the other stick if it still doesnt work. Some RAM problems only surface when they have to handle a lot of data.

Edit- Actually, did you say your hard drive was making noises? If thats true then try running a scan disk.

Yes but its 3 hours till I'm going out to meet my friends, I'm not gonna catch the bus jsut to go buy a game, even if it is HL2

Just buy Half Life 2 off of Steam you have to have a Steam account to play anyway.
