Heres an idea

I have talked a bit about this with my close staff, even chatted with martyr about it a bit on the phone. I don't want to get any hopes up but I want to toss out an idea, a theory.

What if PSU was to stay, but not be "PS" but more of a community. What I mean is just a forum, geared to the community and all game playing rather than a community and a forum geared to one game. If something like this was indeed to happen IRC would go, and only the forums would remain online under a different domain. It would also have some other leadership rather than just myself, dictating forum policies. One of the reasons I consider this is it will save a bunch of money every month, as there will be just forums.

I hate to play with everyones emotions on here but after reading more and more I have grown more and more sad about my decision. I realise this community is great, and I would love for them to stay together one way or another as opposed to be scattered around a bunch of different forums and IRC servers.

Again this doesent mean it is staying, I am more just picking everyone's collective brain.

Well, the final decision is up to you. Personally, I would love to see the forums stay, although it will be sad to see PSU IRC go. But, the most important thing to me dealing with PSU is the forums. The community here is great, and I would hate to have to build up my reputation at another forum.

But like I said, decision's up to you.

I think thats a good idea, plus alot of the peeps here don't play PS anymore including myself, just forums woulkd be good, I actually only use the forums.

We can find other ways to host IRC things, and with a few small changes to the forum operation, such as auto-deleting members who don't do anything for two months, maybe an auto-delete for posts that are inactive for 30 days, we can reduce the space of even the forums. We can proceed to chop the rest of the site and maintain the boards, but we'll still need to attract new people somehow, that's up to the admins on how to do that.

With new mods, there'll be less stress on Hamma to visit so often, so he can devote more time to his wife and the rest of his life.

Why not just call it PSU? No, not as an acronym of the name, but as the actual name itself?

This is a great idea.

It seems TU is already taking off, and combing forces for a community could prove great results.

And maybe adding in Vent too.
