Just got it today, ive gotten roughly 4 hours to play it. Im in the middle of D +2. D +2, basically means two days after d-day. The game takes place over the course of 8 days. Ill get to some of the highlights, first the presentation is amazing. The introduction to the game is amazing, ill try not to spoil the intro. The best part is unlike Call of Duty the D-Day drop is actually fleshed out.
Skip the next section if you dont want to see any spoilers. Code:
............................................................................................Landing in a tree with no weapon you spend the first hours of June 6th gathering mixed units and destroying various flak and gun implacements with a K98 and a Colt 45. I havent had a chance to try Multiplayer since the campaign has sucked up all of my time. Gamespy and IGN have already published their reviews and both have gotten Editor's Choice awards. Gamespy even gave the game a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. If you even have the slightest interest in World War II, you owe it to yourself to buy this game immediatley. |

I got hooked the first time I played CoD Finest Hour. I guess it was the intense action/doing nothing in the first 2 levels. The music also sets a good mood, and I like the slowmo when you get hit by something big.
I say we need a game just like Saving Private Ryan, the same to the last detail (Medal of honor: Whatever, I heard didnt give too much umf . Like for D-day you should roll out of a boat watching everyone die in front of you, then you should make way up to the beach where the sand wall is and then equip your weapon. Or there should be a game just on all the important battles of WWII. From Pearl Harbor to Iwo Jima.

A WWI game?
picture it...game starts in the trenches, some officer shouts charge, you run out of the trench and try to dodge mahcine gun bullets before getting slaughtered... Alternatively, you man a machine gun, and see how many kills you rack up in half an hour of suicidal rushes towards you Sorry, feeling war-weary regarding the Great War, just watched a documentary on the Somme...seriously depressing |

Yeah, seriously, what other war are you going to make a game about? World War I was pretty much all trench warfare, and anything before that was still "Stand in a straight line and fire". So that just leaves World War II, Vietnam, modern day warfare, and future warfare. I don't know what you people expect, honestly...

Brothers in Arms looks so fuckin hawt.. I never get tired of WWII.
I got hooked when I watched Saving Private Ryan when I was like 11, and when the MOH for PS2 came out I almost had an orgasm . I still remeber that part on the 2nd level where your crawlin through this house and a german officer was questioning a american soldier... I tried so many times to save him but he always died before the gun even went off. CoD was awsome to but for some reason It wouldn't play on meh god computer and only ran on my shitty laptop with all the settings on low.. heh try doin the stalingrad levels with 12fps... Anyways TES IV: Oblivion is going to roxxers my boxxers, so screw all those FPS's Last edited by internetn; 2005-03-05 at 10:14 PM. |
