Worth coming back? MIA since core combat release...

I quit around the time of Core Combat, i played some core combat and basically gave my accoun to a friend to take control of (can i say that here? lol)

i've been playing random MMORPGs since then (MMO games are really the only games i play). Played WoW, Lineage 2, FFXI, etc. Currently playing WoW again, but it's not really satisfying my action hunger.

I first played Planetside in closed beta, and i swear i was in love. I remember so many nights camping cyssor with my sniper rifle popping down some TR and VC....

but anyways, i have some questions if you would be so nice to answer:
1.) What has changed since core combat release? I heard about BFRs...how are those?
2.)Do people still play steadily? I played on Emerald, will i see barren continents, or can i still find some action and big fights?
3.)Does the game have a future? I heard about sony making a new MMO-Action game....will SOE just be shutting down production on PS after that? Or is it still worth it to hop on PS again and get up to br20 cr5 and play steadily?

As long as PS is profitable it won't be shut down. EQ2 is out but EQ1 is still active, for example.

Whether PS has a good future depends on what the developers are working on that they're not telling us. Improvements like the squad exp modifiers are great and all, but the gameplay needs to get shaken up some more. BFRs were fine, but I'd personally like to see more. Not necessarily more vehicles or something, just something to make the gameplay feel new again, if only for a while.

But, if you liked PS before you'll likely enjoy it more this time around. Lot of good changes recently. Make sure you've got an Outfit lined up though.

Game is stilll fun to play I would have to say. With all the recent changes, including bringing back home continents, the shakeup of the lattice, recent buffs to squads and platoons (exp radiuses) only serve to make it better.
