It's good if you have patience and can plan in the big picture. It's bad if you are the other 99.999999999% of the world's population.

If you like deep story-line player-driven gameplay, then yea, it takes years to become "l337", there is no set levels, like wow, so you can never be "win" the game. They will always add free content to the game that allows people to advance themselves. So there IS no way to "win"

It's really note a game for the "run and gun 20 seconds after buying" type of game. It takes months to get in a pretty good spot, though even people who have just joined can get into the most exciting part of the game - PvP.

PvP isn't like anything in other games. You can have fleets of battleships with 600 or more people in a certain area, or you can have small-squad based PvP with only a couple ships.

Really to explain it you have to play it, I'm sure Electro or Peace can explain it better. Eve is more of a hobby than a game. This is a game for patient players.

There are alliances of players that come together for a common purpose, and have some awesome alliance-level ships they can use. You can fly a tiny frigate, or, with over 2+ years of training, the biggest ship ever introduced, Titans, which cost multiple-billions of in-game cash to use, and are basicly "I win" buttons that require fleets to move them.

There is a trial I'm sure they will link you too.

Blargh I'm tired.

Or you can fly a tiny frigate with 2 years worth of SP invested. You can pick your niche(and you need to specialize to get ahead in this game initialy) and have at it.

It's a more involved game/hobby than most, but once you get inot a good corp and have a couple mill SP under your belt the fun takes off.

Yea, the main part of this game is to find a good group of people you enjoying playing with. If you're a loner in this game, 95% chance you'll quit. This game is about teamwork. Me, Peacemaker, Electro, and electro's brother are all in the same corp, we enjoy killing our enemies together. That's the main part, so find someplace you like to be.

Its only empty if you're blind.

EVE is great if you associate with great people.

If WoW is like MMO checkers, EVE is like MMO chess. Takes a lot more time to learn and get into, but requires half a brain to play, patience and planning.

It's an insanely complex, huge universe, and its open-ended gameplay can allow you to do more or less whatever the fuck you want. Some people don't like the lack of direction. You set your own goal, and when you start playing it can be hard to pick a route (due to the complexity of the game and all the different options you have).

Best thing about the game is, you're not restricted by your character, and leveling your character is time-based. So, you can start a character, and even if you decide a month from now that you don't want to be a miner, that instead you want to do pirating, you don't have to create a new character, you can just start training the skills you'll need to pirate.

Also if you've got a job or you're not one of those who likes to spend 23 hours a day power leveling, the time-based skill training system is a god send. It trains while you're offline, and while you might think that it automatically puts you behind other people who started playing before you, it really doesn't, especially if you specialize your character. The way the skills are set up in game, it takes a relatively short time to become proficient, a much longer time to become uber. Within a couple months, you can be a very capable pilot in a particular type of ship.

Lol, my recommendation for people who like it but have no patience is to train up all those skills while playing a different game, then jump into Eve fulltime

OR, buy one of my combat prefab characters

Yea, the ONLY grinding you do in EVE is for money. And apparently Lartnev doesnt know how to get it. If you know the right people, or you can fly some certain ships you can make upwards of 200m isk in 4 - 6 hours of work. A lower level character can tag along someone who is doing this particular thing and sorta syphon from it and make 50m a day... which is a large amount of money for someone who cant fly a battleship yet.
