I still play a little Freelancer every now and then. Stuck on the race part now. Good single player game. Not as in-depth as the old Privateer, but its the best thing out there that I know of.

Well, the most recent things I've been playing SP are Pro Evolution Soccer 5 (hehe sports) and Mount & Blade. I can also play a mean game of "Writing Bad Code" in several flavors.

Civ4 is awesome. RoN is pretty cool. Sim City 4 is fun. Far Cry is also a blast. Any of the Tom Clancy Games are good.

For RTS I highly recommend Company of Heroes. For RPGs try the Baldur's gate series if you havent already.

What is the next "big" game coming out? Last big game I noticed really was WoW, maybe CoD 2. Granted I haven't been paying much attention to gaming anymore. Would it maybe be the Warhammer game or whatever it is?

I'd say Team Fortress 2 is a pretty big release.
