Well, i heard 2nd hand from Crazymike that there were 13,000+ applications. I *think* he got that info from the devs, but dont quote me on it. A bunch of us on irc were discussing how there were about 5000 votes on the official site, and over 13,000 beta applications.
again, dont quote me

well, don't forget that the general public is one big moron. I bet you that they automatically throw out people who put "i don't know" for part of their system specs. Like, if you don't know what your processor is, how are you going to be a good beta tester, and be able to accurately say what is happening? They don't want someone like my mom who'll say "it's broke. it won't turn on. oh, i have to plug it in???"
then people who's email's didn't work, etc. I dunno. There's 100 things you could have done wrong. I bet you they even wrote some little prog to scan the dxdiag and compare it with the system specs you submitted. Who knows? |
