I have to agree, At first I thought it looked like it would be awful, but then again, there are numerous FPS out there that try the whole "realistic" thing.

Valve has managed to write some code that can pull off DX10 features with the DX9 API. Granted, its not going to be like Crysis. But some better Textures and Lighting effects.
