In case you were living in a cave yesterday
The VS have a new fighter that we're currently calling the Dyson, although that may change
So, what do you all think would be a better name for it?

I got nothing so far

It really has to change because I can't think of anything other than the vacuum.

Well then again.....

Space Ball 1.

(google search didn't have many images of this which is strange)

Roomba? That at least floats around and sucks. Someone mentioned Zenith (forgot who), which sounds cool. Or Apogee.

If all else fails we can just steal the name of the Aeon air superiority fighter from SupCom:

Corona

Hmm wait, Nova. Radiant.

I like Magnetar.

It fits with the scientific and space theme and since we already have a Pulsar (and Quasar) we should have a Magnetar.

Another good one would be Eclipse. That would have a nice touch when 1000 of those fighters block out the sun while they attack.

Like the name. Dyson is ok, but I'm going to think about silly hand dryers and spherical vacuum cleaners every time I get in one.

Other possible name might be Polar (pronounced POE-lar), which is a highly magnetic white dwarf star in astronomy.

Polaris may be better than Polar to avoid pronunciation confusion. Would make for a pretty good name as well.

All I can think with the name Magnetar is that I want a little tractor beam on the bottom of my fighter so that I can lift people way up into the air and drop them to their death. On second thought, yes, do that. Gimme a Magnetar.

That could be especially fitting if the fluff says it's using a magnetic drive system. It would shorten to Mag though, which might be confusing.

The Vanu naming scheme used to be all space-based. But for the life of me I can't think of many good ones that are space-based. Supreme Commander does have a bunch of good ones that could be "borrowed", but so do a lot of RTSs, actually.

Any of the following are better than Dyson IMO:

Shrike (a bird)
Seraph
Flare (space theme)
Sprite (I like this name, but everybody will think of soda)
