This might be something I'll want to try over the next year so some opinions on the parts I've picked out would be appreciated. (And if they're even compatible, lol)

Get a cheaper board like the MSI P67-G43 unless you need the extra features of the Z68. Go for the Hitachi Deskstar 1TB as its faster then the one you have linked. I like sounds cards, but that one is not worth the extra cost. Better off with the normal titanium. All that one has going for it is the shield, stupid gaming branding, and ram for sound cards (which no devs use). None of those features are worth the extra $$$ imo.

If you're looking for a sleek case, without boy-racer type styling, and good features I tend to recommend Lian-Li.
They tend to be aluminum...so they're not made to be in a traffic area, but that's better for heat transfer and they're lighter...but also often more expensive.

One thing I will admit is I am a bit of a Lian Li fanboy. I have bough three of their cases so far. Though this SilverStone TJ-08 E mATX case I have is quite nice. Just not up to the par in terms of quality I would expect from Lian Li unfortunately.
