Backstory and future development

I've read the backstory and it appears that we're at the start of the war between the 3 factions. Just commenting on it as it fits well with the game being in a state of the 3-year development cycle that SOE has mentioned. By that I mean that they're saying that they'll listen to the community and take into consideration what's happening in the war. Very akin to say a defense contractor listening to what's on people's mind as "the next big thing" that will turn the tide in their favor.
So with that in mind and the mention of Heavy Battle Tanks (specifically mentioned in the Twitter rundown today) and other weapons/vehicles/etc that are in game at launch, does it make sense that the development roadmap of what the various empires want to implement will be lisented to by SOE to fit into the "story" as the game ages? I guess I mean that if the Ranking Command Officers of TR wants to beef up their arsenal with heavy tanks or the NC wants IED's and the VS wants their infiltrators to be able to control remote robots with cameras on them, will the diversity between the 3 empires be increase by what the empires want?
After these various changes are implemented, then the other empires have to adjust and respond to the advancements made by the other empires. This leads to the second "wave" of develpments to counteract the increased capabilities of the other empires. Either by developing a similar technology or developing a counter to the other empires development. Balance may be an issue in the long-run, but that's the way real war works, those with the most effective hardware and strategies wins.
I guess it amounts to an ongoing progression like real war that is tied in well with a continuous progression in "backstory" for PS2 as a whole. Starting at the beginning of the war is a great location as it allows for phased implementation of things that the dev team has discussed and not had time/resources to implement or balance correctly.
Just sayin......any other ideas/comments?
