M-LAV

Multipurpose Light Attack Vehicle.

One of the things I always thought was missing from PS1 was a light high speed transport vehicle. An asset for the infantry allowing them to move small groups quickly, with a limited amount of supporting firepower. More like a "Motorized infantry vs Mechanized", Humvee vs APC. This would be a common pool vehicle.
  1. 1 Driver 3 Passengers
  2. Speed and armor of a Harasser
  3. All position on the vehicle; driver, gunner, passengers, can accommodate all infantry armor types with exception of max.
  4. Variety of top mounted weapons, similar to secondary weapons planned for ES tanks.

As we have customizable load outs for ES Tanks it only makes sense to have the same on the M-LAV. When thinking about how this was going to work I wanted weapons that would be somewhat effective in their roles without being overpowered for the type of vehicle I had in mind. All weapons would be controlled by the front seat passenger and would have no lock on abilities.

The M-LAV would only have one weapons slot, a top mounted turret so as to limit what they are effective at engaging. For infantry, a single turret dual 12 MM Machine gun. Obviously the weapon that's on the Harasser now but with the added benefit of a brother. For anti armor, a rotary 75 MM Rocket. This would be un-guided on a rotary system with 4 barrels. The barrels would fire in a rapid succession followed by a lengthy reload time. Each rocket would have little splash damage to make them ineffective against infantry, and high damage against vehicles. Say half the power of a main tanks shot. Balanced as needed. For AA take the current SG Flak Cannon.

Let me know what you think.

This is one of the many ways I can see them improving and adding more usefulness to ES buggies in the future, when they get around to adding them after the game launches.

An ES buggy should be fast and maneuverable, perhaps more so than even in PS1.

I'd like to see the people inside the buggies be exposed to enemy fire. This would allow the buggy to actually have a pretty high amount of armor, while still leaving it's occupants somewhat vulnerable to attack.

I see it breaking down similar to PS1's buggies, but with 2 extra passenger slots (ignoring the Marauder). The gunner would control a turret that could be customized for various roles, such as being AA like the Skygaurd, or being more AV or AI oriented.

I'd like to see the two passenger slots be able to fire their own infantry weapons from inside the vehicle, limited to weapons no larger than a rifle. Heavy Assault players could just bring a pistol along if they still wanted to take some pot shots.

Have they even confirmed that a deliverer will be in the game? They have said that they are going to be including almost every vehicle from the first game in some form, but it may be that the features of the Deliverer are getting folded into other vehicles. The new Sunderers sloped front looks like it may have the option to transverse water like the Deliverer could. If buggies get some extra passenger slots, it may not really be needed.

Of course we may just end up with a common pool buggy instead of ES buggies, but as long as they were highly versatile and useful, it would still be pretty cool. Especially considering that we would undoubtedly get ES customization options for them.

I wonder if they would allow the VS to customize a common pool buggy into a hover buggy. Then the requests would start pouring in for hovering Sunderers and hovering ATV's. I see nothing wrong with this

I think if the enemy has any air at all, you're dead.

This sounds more like the warthog from Halo, but I still find it a good idea.

Having a light vehicle that even heavy assault can drive at the cost of no driver gun, would promote many people using it, making transportation abundant.

5 Man Vehicle, 2 Passengers can use guns, 2 gunner spots driver drives, Gunner seats are customizable.

I think this would be a good buggy. They could make it one gun or it's fire power could be relatively weak except against infantry? I dunno.

Sunderer can fit a squad and can provide more staying power. I dunno it might clash with the sunderer though...
