Here are my thoughts on how an iPad app for PS2 could work, and be useful:
Device: iPad The app comes in two flavours, the standard Soldiers version which contains basic information about the battlefield, allowing the user to stay constantly in the loop with an overview of the entire continent. The Commander version does this and more; allowing them to set missions and direct the flow of battle without even being in the game. Soldier: Used by all
Commander: As above but linking to commander’s account - needed to prevent spies.

God damn Apple users, always wanting everything all to yourself!
But yes, the more the better and cooler. We can probably get something that allows to "read" these things, but I doubt we'll ever get the ability to set missions without being in-game. I'd really love to be able to check the battlefield even when not in-game though. I'm not expecting a Qt (Nokia compatible) version though, but even a website I can access on my phone is enough :P |

Someone mentioned an app to make users be able to start Orbital Strikes. For example someone in your outift sends a request during his prime time in EU, you sit in a boring meeting somewhere in the States, your phone rings, you check it - (damn, those AV nest must be OS-d)
" 'xcuse me, need to sort things with my ... ehrm... executive division, some collegues from the EU requested an urgent ehrm... intervention with a ... ehrm... situation out of their direct area of influence... yes... just carry on, I'm right back..." You type the coordinates, confirm spending the outfit resource and 30 secs later the enemy AV is vapourized... Wouldn't that be huge fun? |
