from a technical standpoint, I'm not sure I want ships and seacraft considering it'd be pretty hard on your system
aside from that, hell yes. I'd love to have surface ships (subs are for pansies). To keep it simple you can just have one surface combatant with carrying capability for either one squad or one vehicle and a few cannons for anti-air and ground support for landing marines if this was added, I'd get a few of my friends and start the RNI Republic Naval Infantry: Born from the seas to wreak havoc upon the earth mwa hahaha! *cough* damnit...

Im not sure how boats would be bad for the system but i would just love duking it out in a speedboat.
it'd be sweet if you could man a big battleship or aircraft carrier and go against people on land by artillary Think the invasion of Normandy in the future... SWEET

I would like sea stuff it it was done right, not sure how right is, I can see major ships, or perhaps just like tank sized that can float on water out to X distance from land or lose power (cant cross oceans) but a carrier of some sort would be very cool....

Big ships shouldnt be in. They'd un-balance the game because land forces cant retaliate against a ship because they have no bombard weapons. A aircraft wing could take one down but that mean there'd need to be even more pilots than there are now. Small ships would be cool though. Espicially landing craft and such.

What kills most games is lack of expansion and new features. They just get old. I'd like to see them bring water battle on next year or so to spice up the gameplay.

I'd rather see space combat: Boarding parties, 0-G indoor fights, and strafeing runs from fighters just sounds fun to me. There would be a compleatly different set of stratagies and tactics, and sony could make money by forceing your to buy the expansion to be able to access space.

Ummm....... I came up with this very same subject a week or two ago. And all any of you could do was shi*t all over it, about how unbalenced it would be, or how crappy systems couldn't handle all the more rendering, and how there isn't a purpose for it.

I think it would kick to have boats. Pretty much boats equal to the planes we have now, but also have an aircraft carrier.
I've been trying to think of how they could code a "water world" into PS. The only way I've come up with using the tech they are using is... 1) Each continent has 1 or 2 ports (Ports would be the same as Warpgates). This will let the oceans be it's own "world", and when you jump from a continent to a port, you would load the "ocean world", just like when you jump between continents. The "water world" will only have to load 3 or 4 colors of water, ice burgs, and a few other things, (the main one being all the people), therefore I think PS's current "bubble" system of loading a conitent would work. 2) Large ship couldn't get close to a continent to act as artillery do to sallow water. Only a trenced part of the ocean allows large ships to get to a port. 3) Small ships couldn't go to far out to sea because of large waves. (i.e. No small ship could go past like the 2nd or 3rd sand bar.) 4) If small ships are able to be deployed at sea, then the oceans would need to be broken up into 3 or 4 parts. As you went from one ocean to another, you would have to load the new ocean. Untill they can make a "double bubble" system, this is as good as it will get. Double Bubble System: Just like PS's current bubble system of you load a continent in low graphics, but not the people, but you load the continent and people in high graphics with-in a x distance of yourself. The "double bubble system" would be the same, but the second bubble would be about the size of a conitnet, and load everything with-in xx distance of yourself in low graphics without the people.

I would only want to see that done if the ground bases have too many people. I'm talking 1k+ per continent per server. If we have ~300 people per continent, that level of navel battle would put ~150 people per continent. Split that up over 10-17 base, 10-15 towers, pluss travel time, you've got a low action game.
