I would like to hear your opinion about this. Things that could be useful on the second monitor:
I like the idea of my main screen being as void of UI elements as possible. Do you? ADDENDUM: The reason I said "NOT Eyefinity" is because the specific features I am talking about are not exclusive to Eyefinity. Computers games have been able to use a second monitor for ages, just not many FPS's games. Eyefinity is an AMD branded hardware/software solution that allows a game/application to see multiple monitors (up to 6) as one "display group". Eyefinity is one part of the solution to enable the game features of the topic, but it does not define the game features of the topic. It would be possible to have Eyefinity support in PS2 but still have a static HUD concentrated only on the center screen(s) thereby not fulfilling the features discussed in this thread, to move HUD elements from the main screen. I think stats, tactical maps, and world map could be on a webpage on your second monitor if you are using windowed mode for the game. That lowers the value of the feature substantially to me.
They're putting a lot of effort into the web interface and what not so I think that can solve this problem for the most part. |
