Edit, since I forgot to use a DO NOT BOTHER THE DEVS option, please use 'Other...' if that is your opinion.
I know this is probably a stupid thing to bring up, but I notice a lot of comments on the highlight color for the Vanu models is that the model Teal is much too light when compared to the Concept Art teal or the old PS1 teal and I know some of us will want to proudly wear and represent those default colors. Normally, like I opened up with, I figure that this would be something that you shouldn't bother the devs with. Then I got to thinking that if it stays this way all the models will need to get reworked or nothing will get done. It would be better to *** this kind of thing as quickly as possible. So, a poll! This is not a poll in regards to lack of the amount of color on the models, that probably has something to do with battle rank or sellable skins later in the game. This is poll about the default Teal color for the Vanu on the models, is it too light or not? Edit in examples of what I mean For both pictures the purple is roughly the same hue, it's the Teal-Cyan secondary color that's just brighter on the models then it is on the concepts. And here is an example of PSU's media files on PS1 art that shows roughly the same Teal hue as the PS2 concept art. Your signature also uses a much more red violet purple and is much more vibrant then the default Vanu colors in general and I can see why you like the combination.
Unfortunately the default colors just do not match and I would much rather see the teal darken a shade or two then liven up the purple as you have done. |

Aren't Cyan and Teal the same kind color of color anyways ?
It's like Purple vs. Violet... Or Red and Burgundy... Teal or cyan, I do not care so much as long as the end-result looks good and we get the reflection effect on our Vanu armors back. |

I need to preface this by saying I am mildly Red/Green colorblind, that said...
I prefer the color of the MAX above. I definately want to keep the dark purple, with metalic shiny surfaces. The teal on the MAX looks similar to silver with "envoronmental color" reflecting in it, and I like silver a lot... Teal is a light hue mix of blue and green, correct? I always thought Cyan was a light hue of blue, wrong? So, for me the MAX looks good, and the concept art looks too dark (<Edit> the purple is too light so maybe that is my problem with it</edit>), but it is an art scetch... Also, as an aside, that visor needs to be black... I do not think this post is stupid at all... I try hard to distinquish colors, and anything that makes it easier to do is big time in my book... especially good looking contrasts... 2ndEdit: Did a color search for both teal and cyan, I think I like the shiny metalic dark purple/teal look better as long as the teal isnt too dark.

I think it's bright because they lit up the picture so you can see it better. Have we seen video or screenshots of these models in the game? Those would give you a better idea of what the armor will look like them a glamor shot meant for public display would.

I don't recall seeing any at night tho.. Edit: did a quick search and found some older pics of vanu in game. Picts are of Day, Dawn and Night (maybe night is just very very early dawn...) At night the Cyan doesn't show up too well, so I guess it's not that big of an issue in regards to viability, but it still clashes... Last edited by Kran De Loy; 2012-04-07 at 11:31 PM. |
