I have no idea why you'd want to spend that much on a motherboard hen you're not using multiple GPUs or have a boatload of harddisks.

He liked the looks and isn't an expert on computers, hence the thread.

Edit: Do this.

He is right though, the motherboard isn't compatible with the CPU.

That mobo has a 2011 socket, and the CPU is a 1155 socket.

You have to change one of those, or be ready to rage.

Might I suggest either a BIOSTAR TPower X79 or ASUS Rampage IV Gene mATX. They are both very similar except the BIOSTAR is about $80 (470 Kr) cheaper. I personally have the BIOSTAR TPower X79, and love the number of USB 3.0 ports as well as 100% Sata III ports on the board.

Re: New Computer

I'm well aware of the MB is overkill, but i'm counting on upgrading later on, and really can't be bothered reassemble the hole shebang again.

And i get BF3 xD

I'll have more Hardisks and GPU's later on

but thx for the feed, will reconsider the botherboard ^^

Re: New Computer

What exactly are you doing with the video making? Just little side projects or is this your actual job. Until I figure this out I'm just going to go with the 3570K in this build.

This is what I came up with:

eVGA GeForce GTX 680 Superclocked - DKK 3.341
Intel Core i5 3570K - DKK 1.674
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium w/SP1 - 64bit - DKK 849
MSI Z77A-GD55 - DKK 1.202
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB HDD - DKK 848
Corsair XMS3 - 2x4GB DDR3 1333MHz (2) - DKK 772
Antec High Current Gamer HCG-620M - DKK 681
Corsair Carbide Series 500R Case - DKK 857
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo - DKK 269
Crucial M4 256GB SSD - DKK 1.688
Samsung SH-222BB - DKK 161

Total = DKK 12.342 No idea if this includes taxes or not either
