I can't recall which thread it was, but there was some talk that you could attach boomers to yourself or other players. Well..if that's the case; I can see players attaching boomers to maxes during a max crash. See where I'm going with this....Boomers have a pretty big AOE damage and a max can probably take one detonation (They might be able to take a lot more, seeing how they activate shields as well), but it'll definitely kill off any nearby enemy softies.
This wasn't a problem in PS1 though, but after seeing TB placing explosives on the mag(night fight video), it could possibly mean you can place some on ally or enemy troops. But hopefully I'm just paranoid and wrong about the whole thing. Otherwise we're in for some explosive FUN! NOT!!!! |

I say that if its anything like TV tells me C4 is:
After they cook it, burn it and drop heavy objects on it, they start shooting it and it still doesn't go off - it seems you need to actually detonate it properly with a blasting cap. Sooo... I'd say, go for it, let people attach it to whatever they want, but make sure that it only goes off in response to being detonated remotely (or maybe another massive explosion - dunno if that would even work?). That way, it should be less open to abuse, if you detonate it attached to a friendly, you at least do friendly fire damage if not get a TK. If the vehicle its on explodes and that causes a chain reaction, fair enough. From some of the footage we've seen, 'blowing up' a vehicle isn't even a given, I'm pretty sure what I saw was tanks more realistically setting on fire and being knocked out, that violently exploding....? IMO, this is good - vehicles should only explode if the fuel tank or ammo goes. Last edited by Kipper; 2012-05-30 at 09:24 AM. |

No, shooting C4 does not make it explode. My suggestion was not a move towards realism but adequate risk v reward in the game.
EDIT: Besides, if you've ever played a game like this you know it is a lot of fun trying to get him before he gets close. I don't know if a couple guys with carbines could down a MAX running at them full speed before it was too late, and that's no fun. Last edited by Fuse; 2012-05-30 at 09:34 AM. |

And as you say, if you hit it in the sweet spot with something very explosive, THEN you get a big boom. |

The only thing I can imagine people being allowed to attach explosives to is vehicles they spawned. Otherwise you open the door for tons of potential griefing. The suicidal MAX thing could be fun if the people involved are in agreement, but think how quickly people are going to get fed up with having some asshole strap explosives to their max/vehicle and blowing them up for kills.
