Super War Council

I had this idea roaming around in my head, and well I think this would be great to do.

We should set up a war council with all the leaders of all the outfits of our faction on our server, as well as those that are CR5. This body would be set up to plan an over arching war plan to all the outfits. I.E. only attack this factions bases or only this continent. I think it would be really neat and would really rally our faction to help take over as much territory as possible.

It wouldn't go down to a micro managing level, just an over arching goal for the month ect.

This would also give you a win condition but without taking over continents. I know I am new here and to the game but I think this is a good meta game thing.

Definitely a good idea. =D It's happening, and I highly encourage you to check the link below out.

(Full disclosure, I hopped on board with these guys as a staff writer a few weeks ago. I am a mini-moderator/partial staff of T-R.com, lacking a more distinct position.)

http://terran-republic.com/forum/threads/about-us.65/

Quoted, "T-R also operates the Terran Republic Central Command (CCom, pronounced SeeCom).
Central Command is a collaboration of leaders in the Terran Republic to progress the goals of the Terran both in and out of Planetside 2. CCom is a mechanism designed to provide TR players strategic directives for the betterment of all TR players. The optional directives (or are they?) intend to foster a more strategic approach to the goal of ultimate Terran Republic victory."

There's also a corresponding NC and Vanu websites, of which I know virtually nothing about.

The servers need to be known before this will truly have meaning, but War Machine will happily take part as long as it doesn't smell like fish.

So is it built off of using the api and stuff?

Too little is known about the API, but based off of my understanding of EVE's API key system, there is definitely a role that these will play (such as keeping these channels closed to prying eyes, checking statistics for veracity of claims, etc.). However, given that we don't know what to expect from the PS2 system, it's hard to plan the actual functions around them.

CCom is designed around a more open-ended strategic approach via regulated sub-forums. Different servers will have different dominant outfits, the appointees of those outfits (typically their leader) will be linked in with the server's CCom sub-forum to relay sensitive strategic plans between other large factions or prepare plans to disseminate public information to the whole of the TR on our main pages (e.g. "Rally at Oshur Sanctuary, Markov server, on 12/26/2012 to join 'Operation: Delaware Crossing'; more information TBA on location.").

Exactly how each server group and its subforum will function will depend upon the initiatives and interests of that particular server's players. T-R.com does intend to provoke greater strategic cooperation, of course, but the real muscle will come from player leadership!

I see, would be kind of cool if there was a built in ui thing in the game for this kind of stuff to, maybe all the leaders vote on a mission to be added to the mission system so lone wolfs know the objectives too.

I'm personally banking on the in-game browser playing into this, and smart groups of strategists would ideally have it pinned to the side of their UI to pull up the "strategy of the day".

Aside from that, what else might missions do that would create more or clearer community leadership? I'm stoked about the mission system. I'm just not sure what else there is to add. Maybe some sort of Super-Mission (terrible name, I know) where several outfit leaders can give less specific missions? Kind of like epic questlines in other games, I guess. I'm just not sure how to streamline this function.

I think the way this will work in PS2 might be different to PS1, more as a way to know if you are going to be a redundant attacker on a secondary or tertiary target than as a way to focus the zerg better.
