What do you guys think, im about to buy a new system and i cant decide:
P4 2.0ghz vs Athlon Xp 2400+ also how does P4 2.4ghz stack againsts Athlon XP 2400+ I cant decide how to spend my money.

I can't tell you exactly how they would compare but I know the AMD would be on top. My xp2100+ outperforms the 2.2ghz Intel in CPU benchmarks by quite a bit.
AMD 2400+: $132 2.4ghz Intel: $159 (prices from Newegg) I'd say go with the AMD for sure, you'll save almost $30 and it will be faster. Also if anybody tells you it runs hotter... yes it does, but it's not a bad thing because it's designed to. It's not a bad thing. Put the extra $30 into better ram or hard drive or something. Also the nForce motherboards for the AMDs are awesome!

Sputty, let me know when you've got your system up and running. I'm getting the Epox 8RDA+ mobo with same processor and 2700DDR 512MB memory. Wonder how we'll compare.
