Had a quick search, but not found a proper answer, will there be any kind of outfit HQ in the game, a base that is just for said outfit, not even fussed if it's instancesed, which it most likey the only way it will work.
Would be great for a outfit to have its own 'home' /thoughts .... |

I personally don't see the need.
Whats wrong with prepping your platoon for war in the stronghold(/sanctuary). It's always nice to see another outfit prepping for war and it opens up for coordinating (like asking "where are you going ?"). It's also a way to get to know the real active outfits, ones you see prepping in the stronghold very often might be interesting for newer players without outfits or looking for a new one. |

Having a outfit base/home strengthens bonds builds loyalty and adds to the game. |

This isn't an mmorpg where alot of the idea is to hang around. This is an mmofps and like PS1 you'll be supposed to just group up and head out, or meet in the field. |

EDIT: And I'll be honest, I'd rather be train or (hopefully) train other people how to fly in a controlled environment instead of being shouted at to get back into the fight. Last edited by ThermalReaper; 2012-06-25 at 11:46 AM. |

You could probably monetize it quite well, and maybe even add in some form of instanced Outfit vs Outfit defense/offense using it, but I would rather not see something like that.
It really adds to the atmosphere when a group of players is using the faction's "base" as a meeting place. The world feels more alive with stuff like this... Seeing a large group of players slowly get built up and then move out to fight a battle you won't even be involved in really makes you feel like you are just a small part of this war. |

While I think its good for outfits to have a home, I think that that home should be fully destructible.
There's a thread on outfit cruisers you may find useful here:http://www.planetside-universe.com/s...ad.php?t=41198 |

Outfits homes/bases will add to the community not subtract from it, which seems to be what a few here think, it's been in lots of games and it tends to make guilds/clans/outfits bond stronger, which makes people stay with the game a lot longer. |

Even given these matters are taken care of already and a developer is sitting there thumbling his thumbs, there are better ideas to work on than just a base for outfits. |

I always liked having outfit HQ's. If anyone every played warhammer online, there was a guild hall that was instanced for guilds and you could have merchants and various storage in there. You could also hang trophies from guild achievements and banners that represented your guild colors. They even had another room just for officers!
I really enjoyed having a place only my guild could go. It was still in the main city so you weren't separated that much and I feel Planetside 2 could implement an instanced area for outfits with similar things. Maybe they could have trophies for reaching 100 base captures or killing 100,000 of a enemy side etc. Maybe make the banners show outfit colors or have symbols associated with the type of outfit they are. (ie. Piloting focused outfit would have a Galaxy or Reaver symbol etc.) There are a lot of fun ways this can go and build a community place for your outfit. It definitely is NOT a launch thing, but could be fun down the line. |
